Hehehe Panda... Before being naughty have you used your Mitzi, yet? [emoji6]

Oh yes! Panda's Buckle is very pretty. I really like the Buckle Bays a lot. Now that it is discontinued. [emoji38]

Oh nightmare has begun. If I have to lose one to have another then the bay's buckle must go. Simple as. Darn it!! Am now scratching head with mulberry bitten nails wondering what am I to do.

No, have been crap and not used Mitzy. She's has to go. I love her but just can't bring myself to use her. God knows why. I love looking at her but I just can't justify keeping her solely for that. So the bag roulette continues.....

My other problem is the wedge type shoes for next year are lush, very Tudor-esque, and I have fallen in love with this necklace too. Granted this is not to everyone's taste but I just love it.... I've lost my heart for it...arf !!!

Oh flipping heck... I've gone and done it now.... too many pretty things. Looks like Johnny may have captured my heart again with a few peices after all..... where did I leave my blinkers...??

:drinks::happydance:why is there no more emoji with the rolling on the floor laughing my arse off?!!! You go Panda....I do love that you've allowed Johnny to capture your heart!!!:wave:

Hi dear Ludmilla! I do have a few more I could sell (but I'm currently lazy about it!) & I don't really have any seller remorse...I would have liked to have kept a Bal or 2 based solely on their gorgeous color (& maybe I would have used them more now that I've ventured SLOWLY into a few colors here & there) but I tend to not like to hold on to remorse or regret in anything so I guess my "final answer" is no remorse!!

It is a great way of thinking to let go of remorse or regret. I need to exercise that a bit. It makes life much easier (not only regarding bags [emoji6]).

Me too, can't manage shoulder bags too well

Hope you recover completely very soon, i spent 2 days in bed and 2 days working from and was totally recovered by the 5th day

Thank you, Lou. I am in bed since Friday and had to visit the doc, yesterday. Other people get a cold - I get tonsillities. Every. Single. Time. [emoji16] Have to stay at home the whole week. At least I feel well enough to post on tpf again. [emoji3]

Yowzer mayfly, I never realised you had that many bays! You truly are a handbag squirrel

Love that pic!

I would not worry too much. The Zipped Bays is a new style, so it will be around for a while. Take a look at it irl. [emoji3]
Why do you want to sell Buckle, if you want to get the Zipped B? Because they are similar? Or do you use your Buckle this rarely? Why not selling Mitzi and another unused bag for Zipped B?

Hi, dear CP!
Sadly I don't need a Bays for work atm but, as you say, I'm loathe to part with such an iconic style - for me, the Bayswater epitomises Mulberry.
Miss Graphite performed heroically around the shopping centre, although I don't think she'd work under Christmas shopping conditions - far too heavy/bulky/difficult to access when encumbered by innumerable shopping bags! I also found Miss Oak Bays VERY heavy on a day's shopping and sightseeing in London, so my conclusion is that they aren't for everyday carting around but are great for work!
I don't think the graphite bag is still under warranty, but I may get the lock plate replaced anyway. I certainly won't part with Womble, oak, chocolate, graphite or scribbly floral but I rarely use snowball or pumpkin and I've never used my putty, pistachio, ochre suede Cookie or preloved heritage pheasant. Hmmm ... More nuts, secreted away in their dust bags in true Squiggle fashion! [emoji6][emoji883]

Wow Mayfly! You have a gorgeous nut... Bays collection. I'd love to see them!

Glad you like the thread. Welcome squirrel Vincent. [emoji4]

I'll get my girls to line up for you later, Ludmilla; it will be the first time out of their dust bags for a l-o-n-g time for a few of them! [emoji270][emoji5][emoji270]

Pics of your beauties would be lovely. We squirrels love to drool over great collections. [emoji4]

Am late to this soireé, but I am diving in. As a newbie, I confess to needing to gather my courage to do so. I have been an admirer of the camaraderie here for awhile amongst you lovely ladies, and have been tempted to dip my toe in by the example of my sweet pal Kendie, who I was fortunate enough to befriend when I purchased a lovely Fitzrovia online from her last year. (is that ok to reveal? if not, sorry, Kendie dear!)

Ludmilla, your fab and fun pics of our nut gathering sisters made me laugh. They were lovely and apropos. In our new house I have an entire clan of squirrels who are far too clever at raiding my increasingly elaborate bird feeders, led by a mother squirrel who seems as addicted to black sunflower seed as I confess myself to be to Mulberry. Welcome and bon appétit, Mme Le Ecureil!

I also admire the idea for the thread, bravo Ludmilla! Hope you are all recovered from your bug, it is that time of year when there is so much seasonal sickness about, so hope you are feeling well now.

My story:
I am a Mulberry devotee since the day I wandered into their shop on my lunch hour on (was it St. Christopher's Place?) in the late 80's when I was working as a copywriter for an ad agency in Marylebone. After careful and painstaking deliberation, I purchased my first Mulberry bag which hung from my shoulder like a comforting angel on my increasingly lengthy commute, first from Pimlico, then Battersea, then out to Bucks each day. She carried work, the day's papers, the complete works of Jane Austen, lunch and heaven knows what else. I have her still, a Scotchgrain dowager who now holds precious manuscripts and memories from youth, love letters included. I have thought of selling her on but balked at the gate. She stays. Told my son I promised not to leave a morass of things to wade though on my death, but the old Scotchgrain lady will be there to greet him for certain!
I indulged in several more Mulberrys whilst working in London, purses, even a fab briefcase/attache purchased on impulse the day Mr. MM informed me that we would be moving from our beloved, newly renovated at great pains listed cottage in the perfect village, to.... Silicon Valley. Through my tears, I hopped over to Harvey Nicks and bought in one fell swoop 3 English Eccentrics silk scarves and the lovely Mulberry Congo briefcase. Which occupies pride of place in my Pursery, though she/he has yet to be used for anything at all. Once a year or so I remove her/him from the dust bag, inhale deeply, sigh and then replace. So that's a sad tale.
Fourteen house moves over the course of my married life has resulted in a certain facility at culling--in spite of heavy squirrel DNA! (I have moved my mother several times and learned the art of culling the emotionally laden.) Having dallied romantically with several brands of good handbags, about a year or so ago in anticipation of our latest move, I began to look with a jaundiced eye at my wee Aladdin's cave of unused beauties and to divest myself of them vigorously. A second career teaching primary age kids made it easy to forgo pricier indulgences and introduced me to the world of consignment and pre-loved bags. I have sold and purchased on eBay for awhile, but if a bag was too precious in memory or too beautiful, my solution was to give it to family and friends who'd enjoy them. Bit by bit I found myself seized by the old passion for Mulberry and have assembled a small collection of mostly vintage bags. I cannot at the moment afford the swanky new ones, and so the one in one out rule is easy to apply. I now have an old French armoire filled with my lassies, all pre-owned--some in terrific condition, some more seasoned. From Roxy, to Rosemary (best for my older shoulders) to wee Heritage Pheasant Bays to Kendie's divine Fitzy, I am now quite rigorous about one in.
Having said that, I continue to search and ponder new acquisitions from the ranks of the older styles. If I were in the UK, I'd be working two jobs, as your selection there is too tempting.
Sorry for going on so long, and thank you for reading my maiden voyage on the seas of tPF, Mulberry Squirrel Support thread!
Thanks again, Ludmilla for beginning this thread :flowers:

What a lovely welcome, thank you so much Louliu, Elvis, Mini Mabel, Mayfly and Kendie! I was thrilled to see your kind words today, it meant so much. You ladies are The Top! I promise never to post such a "tome" again:amuse:

I thoroughly enjoyed your backstory, dear MM; it's fascinating how we all got hooked on this brand (although I'm personally not so keen on the current offerings). Do you have any Mabels in your collection? It's such a fabulous bag: lightweight, amazingly easy to organise, loads of storage (big central section, 2 slide side pockets), shoulder/handheld options etc ... It's definitely the style I wish they'd never discontinued.
Here's my rose pink goatskin Mabel:

Hello to everybody, I am a squirrel who lives near the coast of the Baltic sea, and people and squirrels here are said to be a bit slow, that's why it took me so long to find this wonderful thread with beautiful pictures and consoling replys concerning the collection of nuts. I have lead a calm (see pictures of me sitting in my garden or on the terrace) life until in April this year I was travelling to London and bought a stunning Lily in glossy goat at Heathrow, the most expensive bag I have ever bought at that moment. I watched and read internet forums, saw this wonderful forum and got addicted. The bays in oak followed, the small double zip tote - and I was a bit afraid of losing control. One month stop, then I saw a preloved roxanne in a secondhand shop, then the Mulberry summer sale came,,, and so on. Now I am the happy owner of 14 Mulberry bags and I love each of them. I use my sbs in black and oak very often now, love the regular bays in oak but do not use it so often because it raining so much here . I use the preloved bays in black darwin more often, it seems to be indestructable. I have bought a preloved Mulberry Luella Gisele which I only used once, it is not so practical, but I love it as iti is unique and the thick harness leather is fantastic.
My DH was a bit worried, but after I explained to him why I love the Mulberry bags so much, it was him who gave me the sbs oak for our 10th wedding anniversery.
I would not sell one single of my mulberry bags, I sold other cheaper bags, because I have made the experience that carrying a really good and pretty bag can save a whole day. For dirty floors in bars or similar occasions I use cheaper bags, but I use a Mulberry bag nearly every day. The green Roxanne has a pause, I'll use her again in spring.

It was so consoling reading about other squirrels, thanks! There are still some Mulbs on my wishlist - a blue sdr and a lily in oak for example, but as I do not like the newer Mulbs, I am a bit calmer now that I am not completely gone mad. Thanks Ludmilla for this great thread!
