Is it "frowned upon" to have 2 separate accounts at the same store? My SA was the first to suggest that we open an account for my DH so we can get more QBs.

If your SA is suggesting it, you could stand to assume this is not frowned upon at your specific store. Stores vary it might be best to follow your SAs lead in this case than folks on here who have different experiences.

I second that it varies by stores. I was told by some friends who are long-time H customers that the store managers may run an quick query on the address before approving quota bags. So if your husband and you have the same address, both could be pulled up. What also matters is your spending. If the manager finds out that you and hubby have more than 1 account, and yet you are one of the bigger spender at his/her store, there is no reason not to give you a quota bag; however, if the manager notice that your household has more than 1 account, and your spending is on the lower end, that might more likely be an issue. So if I am a manager, I do not care if the customer household has 1 or 2 account, as long as they are dropping a LOTS of money on my store. Hope it makes sense....

If I shop at one location in NYC, is it possible for my husband to start a new relationship at another location within NYC and have neither of the stores see that? Based on what I'm reading, it seems like your profiles are really set by your name and not by phone numbers or addresses.

I thought that because we have the same address, they would connect both of us together and see that I shop at one location and my husband shops at another and that would in turn hurt my chances of QB.
Use a diff address, say your parents or sibling in the same city or nearby city.

Just curious, how much does it matter that your prespend was from store inventory vs your SA ordering it online for you / doing a charge send at a different store ? I would say 60-70% of my spend was the latter and wonder if that would bump up the amount I need to be considered for a QB.

IMO, in the US, where there is no specific prespend, this depends on a constellation of factors, including but not limited to strength of your relationship to your SA/SM; comparison with other similarly situated clients who might want the same specs; the rarity of the bag uou so want; etc. BUT, in general an SM will look most favorably on clients who spend generously on items in stock

By the way, @880 and other experts, is there a different between the assistant manager (who's on duty on the floor) and the SM that we always talk about here? How do I meet the SM? Even with the ASM, I feel like I get to meet them (they rotate quite often) only when my SA is busy and the SM helps with something. Thanks!

So the general consensus is that I should ask my SA if I can use my husbands card on my account. As for his account it should be changed to a separate SA within the same store and/or different store. Right?

I think the conversation got sidetracked by what's frowned upon vs not  The only reason why you'd want to have 2 accounts is to go over the 2 QBs/year limit. You'd have to maintain enough purchase history on both accounts in order to do that.

If your husband doesn't shop a lot (you said he's not super interested) then it's unlikely that his spend alone would qualify for QBs, so no need to maintain his own account. I'd put everything on your account. Just go together, and when it's time to pay, say "Hey, is it cool if he uses his card?". I personally never ask, my SA doesn't care which card we pay with as long as we're both present at the store, but yours might be different.

It is not frowned upon. If the SAs/SMs know you both, it will be seen as a bit of a cumulative spend. An SA can make a case for you if DH spends a lot and vice versa.

DH and I work with the same SAs/SMs in 4 cities and 3 countries and it's fine. The only time it should be an issue is if your store is resistant to offering the number of bags you want (as opposed to wanting to get you as many as they can). That said I don't think it's been many times that we have wanted more than 3 Birkins/Kellys in ONE year across stores, let alone in one place!

The only reason why I feel one would want to have 2 accounts is because 1 store does not have suitable inventory (levels) to make up the pre spend for a quota bag. This is assuming one does want to buy whatever one truly loves and not “waste” the pre spend by getting from other sources which does not count towards a quota bag.

Anyway, I also do not want to put all my eggs in a basket with 1 SA. SAs come and go anytime.

My SA suggested a second profile under DH for addl QBs so it must be a normal practice at my store. Other stores may differ. Best to ask your SA
IMO, if your SA suggests it, and your spend is high enough for two profiles, I assume it’s okay.
i prefer to have everything consolidated under one name.

I don’t currently have an H acct; so we both use DH’s profile in H boutiques.
But, I have no problem using my own cc.

@Buildingprofile, it sounds like you know your people well
i dont think meeting the SM makes much difference. It’s your SAs advocacy on your behalf;
her relationship with them; and your profile that matters. JMO though

Agreed. I love all the knick knacks (hubby's term) that I get and the bag is a bonus!
While I do love their bags, I'm leaning more to their rtw, homeware, fj and other "knick knacks". I dont exactly need so many bags but I certainly would love to have some of the other Hermes products. I tried one of their dining chairs. It was very comfortable.

I haven’t gone through this thread or any thread about pre spend/getting an offer in a while since I’ve developed a good relationship with my SA for the past few years.
However, I thought it’d be fun to read the trends over the last year and see where a typical ratio is like with everything going on. I’m not shocked to see 2-3:1 being normal but if this is normal for everyone, then I honestly don’t understand why some friend of mine got an offer with less than 1:1 spend for a B25 in a neutral color (one of the most popular ones) in a competitive US store?
I thought my store was competitive so my ratio has always been more than this, and I have no problem spending on items I love (over the years I’ve developed real love for H items beyond just bags), but when others are spending 2-3+:1 at the same store with the same SM, how is it fair that some SAs offer some customer a highly desired quota bag for 1-? (Mind you, the friend did not buy anything else since getting the offer either, not sure if next time she wants a bag, the ratio would still be this low..

It’s not strictly just spend. Lots of factors exist; spend ratios just point to a trend for expectations. Oh and also, people lie.
