Wouldn't that be great if we got 2-3 (or more) B/K for $10k spend??

There have been different ways the spend/bag ratio has been noted, but I've always interpreted it, no matter the format, that the 1 represents the bag and the larger number represents the spend. Unless it's a .5, which we assume would be the spend amount as you wouldn't be getting half a bag. Hope that helps those that are trying to navigate the issue.

It’s definitely the larger number that equals the spend, despite my similar wishes to the contrary. My main concern is that when folks use 1:2 (which is the opposite of ratio conventions) it may become confusing to newbies (or even oldbies ) in the thread. I may have woken up on the wrong side of the bed today but I want folks to use one ratio convention! Ok rant over:drinks::lol::yahoo:

Sadly, for many these days, math is hard. :coolio:

My SA said that B25 are extremely hard to come by because they are so popular. My SA reserved the B25 for his clients and he is the manager of the small leather dept. on Rodeo Dr. You may have to wait awhile for a B25. Ask your SA for an honest assessment of your chances of getting one this year.

Very good feedback! I will ask next time I see my SA in person! I am enjoying the journey so far so I’m gonna ride this out. There’s something special about getting a bag directly from H

Can we clarify the ratio convention as a sticky somewhere? I traditionally understand the first number to be the spend and the second to be the bag (e.g., 2:1 means I spent $20k to get a single K28), but I feel like I’m seeing different approaches in this thread (which may be confusing to folks).
3:1 for me is 30k to 1 Birkin 30 with ghw but I also got Kelly to go heard hard to by?

I always thought the 1 meant the dollar amount value of the purse in the 2:1 ratio as opposed to the quantity of bag, ie 1 Birkin. So I have been speaking in dollar amounts re: what I spent in RTW, Home goods, shoes or fine, jewelry or small leather goods and other non-QB. The first number would be a multiple of the second, so a B25 would be 3.5:1 and a B35 would be 1.5:1. Keep in mind, I am at purse peace now & only go to Hermes when invited at this point. However, I am ridiculously in love with shopping and will not refuse a Birkin if it crosses my path!

I think that yields the same result. Spending $20k against the value of the bag (most are around the $10k mark).

Congrats on your bags! Beauties!
