Spend threshold for B/K/C

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate

That’s bad to know. Is there a time frame you have to do your purchases? Like every few months etc?

This thread is a a great source of information about how to get a quota bag:

I have heard from a friend that her SA told her, due to COVID, supply issues still, likely only 1 quota bag and for a B/k25 likely 1:2-1:3 spending ratio. Have you guys experienced similar? Ie not even getting good offer until spend has been in this range? Thoughts and experiences from TPF friends that have recently gotten offers.

the smaller sizes have always required a high spend ratio (assuming its a more competitive store) even before COVID and the 1:2 sounds pretty typical even in normal times. I think if you are open to B25/K25 in less popular colors (not gold, black, rose sakura, craie)...it might be a little easier.

I think gold and black are much easier than the lighter pastel colors. I got offered a etain k25/gold b25/noir b25 last year with my prespend but my sa laughs at me every time I mention rose Sakura.:yucky:

you're right...i think pastel colors are difficult to come by too. @ the stores I shop at, rose sakura is by far the most requested color outside of your typical neutrals. craie is up there too since its one of the few colors via a regular offer that comes with rose gold hardware.

Agreed. Colors you prefer is a huge factor! My friend is a loyal customer shopping with same SA for years (at a competitive US store) so I was surprised to hear that even she was spending 1:2-1:3 and hasn’t gotten any offers in the b/k25 size versus a newer client. Perhaps she’s waiting on a hard to get color like rose Sakura haha. (I should ask her )

Does anyone know if prespending rolls over from year to year or it does it always stop when you get a bag even if you’ve spent significantly more? Also is prespending for an exotic bag still expected to be 1:1? (Ex: Bag is 25k - is prespend also 25k?)

It’s better to ask your SA as different countries, stores work differently.

apprently not on exotics for this YouTuber

Should I switch SA if I’m well over 2:1 and no offers? My SA never mentioned a wishlist and when I’ve asked after 1:1 they brushed it off.
I kept my options pretty opened regarding color and hardware as long as it’s a 30 or smaller

2:1 is quickly becoming the bare minimum standard in US stores. Recommend staying patient and continuing to check in with your SA with small purchases.

Okay, Will do  thanks! Do you know if this is happening in Canada as well?

Reportedly Canada is even worse / more competitive in the major city stores (e.g. Vancouver and Toronto). You may want to see if there's a specific thread for your store and ask there. Best of luck!

ETA: I do think there's a difference in how the SA is responding to you...if they are basically trying to say that you need to be patient and won't promise you anything concrete, like already said I think that's the reality right now and you do have to be patient and listen to them. But if they are acting like...completely ignoring you, won't even take note of the fact that you'd like a bag, (unless you have been bugging them excessively after they've told you to be patient), or are doing things like pushing you to purchase things you don't want to, then I'd say be careful. But yeah, generally speaking, 2:1 is not unheard of in recent times at competitive stores.
