Agree with this. I am assuming there are no extenuating circumstances like super high net worth and/or high visibility VVIP* or very long standing, regularly high spend. A friend who is one of the top clients of a local H (high spending for 10+ years) accepted a mini K picnic a few years ago. She may have been offered bc she has almost everything else
I average 5X between accepted bag offers bc I love RTW and am not actively bag hunting. I haven’t accepted a bag offer from my local store since early 2024, and my SA commented this week that I’m well due (bc I’m in my second year). I normally get more than two bag offers a year (between local and FSH SAs). I don’t have a wish list, but they will tell me if they have access to a bag they think that I will adore.
BUT, if I wanted a mini picnic, I assume that i would have to spend significantly more and wait probably until sometime next year. That particular bag may not be as sought after as a faubourg, but it’s one of the most popular. While I consider myself a solid regular client, I only started shopping again around 2021, so I am not long tenured. And, I am not a VIP, nor do I spend like one. My store is one of two competitive US Maisons, and my Maison has many shoppers like me. A VIP at my Maison might be one that buys multiple pieces of furniture including chandeliers for several homes (my former SA had clients like this, and I never even knew H sold chandeliers lol). And, apparently, as per another SA, the largest RTW client in the Americas shops at my store. Clients like that should get first dibs. The decision is also not in the hands of your SA. It’s the leather manager and SM who will make the determination.
ETA: *as in Hermes corporate might really love to see a bag on the arm of a woman in a spaceship in space

If not for the notoriety, then for the visibility that could drive up the stock prices 😂
