I placed my SO in March 2024 in the US, and I think my pre-spend was a $0 until I got this offered. I started my H journey since late summer of 2023. I got the first QB (for my mom - B30 togo/noir/ghw) in November 2023 (with a pre-spend ratio of 0.9319:1). Then, I spent minimally (I think it was less than $2K) and got a Maxi Kelly (i.e., Kelly 42), which was not a QB in my home store, in March 2024. A week later I got the Kelly 42, I placed the SO (for my sister - K25 ostrich).

My SA had limited slots to invite and I was selected. So, I honestly believe that it was 100% based on the SA/store relationship, and not based on my pre-spend (because I had no pre-spend). I hope this is helpful, and please note that YMMV.

Absolutely. Just think about how many people are buying a $10k piece of furniture vs how many are buying a $10k piece of jewelry. It’s probably 100:1. The harder to sell an item, they happier they are to sell it.

💯 But, is there a 10K piece of furniture anymore lol? BC at FSH, in Feb 2025, my SA showed me a beautiful open “basket” made of leather strips that was 18K EU. This basket was only suitable to “hold” a blanket or magazines BTW.

The couches I looked at briefly a few years ago were 80K- 140K USD. And a bench, albeit leather cushioned, was 30K. And a salt and pepper shaker set was 2500 EU.* My former SA, before he was promoted, I think made his entire quarterly figures once , by selling chandeliers? I had no idea Hermes even sold chandeliers? Maybe horizon? I did not ask. So, I’m sure whoever bought those got whatever bag they wanted

eta: to be clear, I nearly fainted from the prices. My Peugeot salt and pepper shakers are good enough ;)

Perhaps your SA sensed your indecision and felt RTW/FJ was a surer thing? They don’t want unhappy clients or returns

It seems they make a lot of the furniture and lamps after a customer orders, they don’t always have them ready.

As for RTW, they need to unload what was ordered, before it ends up discounted at the sale.

They make an absolutely adorable set of nesting side tables. I think they are 6k each. I was planning on ordering them but now will wait until I sort my local situation. There is also a fabric version of the bench and I think it is $22k. it is absolutely stunning but I cannot think of any good place for it in my house.
