You are so right. This is why I am thinking of changing my home store from BH to Topanga:annoyed: Not sure if this location is competitive, but I am sad to loose my wonderful SA:sad:
Oh no! Don’t leave! BH is really great to locals with consistent and predictable spend. My worry is that I am ramping down my spend and am preparing for a possible change in the level service I may receive going forward. If you have a wonderful SA at BH, please do not change. I have been at BH for over a decade and would never change, my spend has ramped down a bit, but the level of service has remained very high to superlative. I have never spent $100K at one time and in the decade plus I have been there, that was the only time I have witnessed a transaction of such a high value. Many times when I am at the register, I will see the numbers from a previous transaction and they are typically in the $6k to $25k range. My experience with BH is that they favor local, consistent lifestyle clients. My SA knows he can rely on me to be interested in new RTW every new season, and that I shop for myself and daughters on Valentines, Mothers Day and Christmas and spend roughly the same amount each time. Doggie Bags posted earlier in this thread about Sales goals and milestones that each SA must meet each year.

If you have a good relationship with your BH SA, clearly they value your patronage. BTW, the choice of bags at BH are unparalleled in California. Please stay.

That being said, only switch stores if your SA recommends you switch and if it is more convenient for you.

Edit to add: When I said BH is rough, I meant it is rough for tourists to walk in off the street and get a QB. I stopped eavesdropping in on the FJ shopper and did not see whether or not they did get a bag offer. I hope they did, but would not be surprised if she was offered a larger size QB like B35, K32 or a non QB.

Thanks for your advise, I really appreciate it. My first QB wasn't that hard to get with less than 1:1 spending and less than year but it took 4.5 years to get 2nd QB, and it was K28, not hard to get color or leather. For the 2nd QB I did spend almost 2:1 in the beginning, my SA kept telling me I was on top of the list, so I stayed patience and shopped for small ticket items. Last month finally I got exactly what I wanted, but it took so long! Now on my 3rd QB I was thinking to change the location, but like I said I really like my SA so I am not sure:-s

Maybe it’s more about being patient and managing expectations since it seems like your SA is taking care of you. And the relationship is key!

so did you spend 2:1 over 4.5 years? Or what was the final prespend for your 2nd QB?

I spent over 16K in first year and half but I didn't get any bag offer by then. After that I slowed down on my spending over 3 years. My final spend was closed to 20K.

16k in a year and a half then another 4k in 3 years for a total of 20k (2:1 total) doesn’t seem competitive enough for BH. Maybe, that is why it took 4.5 years. I think if you did the 2-2.5:1 in 1 year, you would have probably gotten the bag faster. I was like you where after 1.5:1, I gave up at first (and went reseller for my first bag) and dragged my spend, 3:1 total, for 2.5 years.

Putting aside extremely competitive stores and rare/coveted specs, I wonder if having a larger time gap between QB offers decreases the amount of pre-spend for an offer.
Say you got your 1 QB in 2023, then continued to purchase whatever you liked in 2024 and only put aq WL in 2025 for 2 QB? Would it still be 3-5X or can you get away with a lower ratio because "you are not asking too much too soon"?
Yes, I think you can get away with a lower ratio, but an SA may not keep you top of mind if it’s 3X-5X from 2023-2025. It would depend on the other clients on her roster and her commitments to them (none of which is in your control)

Has anyone ever gotten back to back small sized qb for 1:1 or less and also under 12 months between bags?
Yes it happens typically where the client has healthy spend for the bags but of course there are other factors that play into it. For me I think it helps that I have shopped a while with my sa and boutique, buy across the categories, and am not demanding. To illustrate one year I had higher spend for the first bag and it had been a while since the prior offer even with very healthy spend because my requested bag was high in demand. I think my spend was somewhere around 4-5x over 1.5 years for the first back to back bag. The second was just around 1x. Btw as an aside when I first shopped I did pay attention at about where I was at spend. I think everyone does to some level. But as time has gone by I’ve realized when I want a qb I need to trust my sa and the boutique and process. And they have always come through. There are only so many bags that come in and I can’t expect that I will take priority over those who spend more and visit frequently. If a bag comes great and if I have to wait I get it. I’m at a competitive store. Both bags were 25 sizes and desirable neutrals and leathers. There’s been a ton of great info here imparted on factors that played into offers. One thing to really emphasize is what you’re asking for and what the boutique buys or gets sent from Paris and how many clients also want the bag. If the boutique mainly orders regular leather neutral bags and you want an exotic or a pink bag and there are several ahead of you with healthy spend you could be waiting a while.

Hi everyone,

I’m not sure how my new bags and spend works. I received my first quota bag in July of this year. Then in October I finally received my so which was placed with my previous sa 2 years ago.

Will this sa count whatever prespend I had after July towards this special order? I hate to lose new prespend?

For the last few years I've accept 1 QB a year from my SA. Not including leather, my ratio was around 1:1 for two of the bags and ~.5:1 for the other. I did get additional offers one of the years that would have given me 2 QBs that year but I didn't accept them. The gap of time between all accepted offers, after the first, was between 14-16 months.

It’s not all that’s needed every time, but I think flexibility and patience goes a long way. That along with a solid SA relationship.

You are right but over the time I wanted some items ( fine jewelry, shoes, tableware) but my SA told me they didn't have it in stock, and I didn't want to purchase something I didn't like just to increase my spending history, so I sensibly slowed down my spending. I didn't have any issue waiting but I thought 4.5 years is a long wait, just saying :P

Anyway, I am very pleased with my second QB:love: my wonderful SA got me got me exactly what I wanted!
