@BreezyE K25 - open to neutral colors. Also, my prespend doesn’t include any bags or SLG
I was in a similar position recently but when the offer came it was basically my perfect bag. None of the “you have to compromise and can’t get exactly what you want” that’s seems to circulate.

My store is very competitive, combo of location and clientele. Not sure if you want to tell us your location to get more specific advice. I do think it’s important to remember that the long term relationship is prioritized so you will likely get what you want. Have you asked about how long it might take?

I do think it’s a good idea to slow your roll a little in terms of spending, if only so that you can spend when you get your bag and right after. I wanted my SA to know I wasn’t going anywhere (like getting the bag and running) so I saved up a bunch of things to purchase a week or two after I got the bag.

Does your SA mention anything about a bag or try to confirm your wishlist? If you are at that competitive of a store your prespend might not be high enough or, there are many people in line before you. Also when did you hit 2.5 prespend? Just recently or last year?
@BreezyE My SA mentioned about working on my QB a few months ago. When he mentioned this, my pre spend was about 2:1. Since then, I purchased a few more items that got me to 2.5 recently. Within this same period of time, he offered me a few non QB that I rejected

I’m at a crossroad as to whether I should continue to spend or hold, especially after hearing a few who scored a QB with less than 1:1

I am with you! I saved up a bunch of things to purchase in the hope of starting to work on my 2nd QB. Without even getting the first, I should slow down the spend now.

I mentioned to my SA that I’m here to build a long term relationship. Only time will tell whether my 2nd QB would get easier (or not)!

I asked about the timing and received the normal protocol type of response “I’m working on it”

What is your experience and are you working on the subsequent QB now?

the ones you hear about scoring QB with a lower pre-spend are in the minority. It actually did happen to me, but the road to the 2nd has been longer

My store serves a huge area so I assume it will be a year at least until the next QB. I am not in a rush though. I am enjoying the one I have and I do not want to rush into purchasing more - I’d rather live with this one and see if I want a different one or same model different color, or same type, larger size, different color. So many choices!

Unlike many here I am anti-collector. I like to only have as many bags as I can reasonably use a lot.

Makes sense. I’m sure you are a lovely person but sounds like the key was your new SA could see your spending history at a different location in the US for a year or more + luck (that the new less competitive store had a bag that matched your wishlist).
Thank you. I’ve always been under the impression that the history from other stores really doesn’t impact offers that much. At the end of the day the new SA and store want to offer and sell to loyal clients and not those who jump around and shop from multiple stores and SAs. Also, if this was a hard and fast “rule” I’m sure there are many people on this forum that would have received offers much quicker and easier than has been the case.

I do think the fact that it has been over a year since my last QB was helpful for sure. And, I do think that luck had a lot to do with this whole situation for me. In fact, my SA told me that the bag that I had requested, had arrived to the store an hour before I came in that day. In fact, he had pulled another bag for me instead, but switched it when he saw this one as it was my top wish list item. I was scheduled to go in earlier, but my day ended up becoming a bit busy, and therefore my appointment kept being pushed. Lots of factors played into it working out 🙏

I was very unhappy with my experience at my prior store so was looking for another local home store... I wanted to try out a few different stores in my area to see if there was anyone who I clicked with. Met an SA at the first store we went to, liked him, explained my situation, and bought a couple of things. He invited us to a RTW event, which was our second visit, and offered a B25 noir ostrich with RGHW with $3000 spend with him. The math works out to 0.13:1.

So to @nikotama 's point, it wasn't really the current spend with him... it was my overall "profile" as a potential client. He saw my previous spend, wanted us as clients, we clicked, AND probably the most important part, was the floor manager, with whom he had a very good relationship with, approved the bag on the spot. My first "stockroom surprise" from him LOL.

We were actually reminiscing about that first bag and our initial experience yesterday. He said he was talking about us with the floor manager (who is now store director) at the runway event and how he went to her that day and asked to sell us that bag because we had "potential" and she said "ok, go ahead!" and he said "And look where we are today!" lol...
He also said "I saw you come in in that top...remember that top you had?" because I was wearing a runway blouse I had just gotten from Paris. So for him, it was a business decision. And he said as much. While walking us out after that first bag he said, "I hope we can continue our relationship... and let me know if I can get anything else for you."

That first bag was a hook... it was "hey look what we can do for you." It's definitely paid off for them LOL. We have been good clients. But he has been very good to us too.

Of course need to add the obligatory YMMV, everyone's experience is different, the only rule with Hermes is there is no rule, and a lot comes down to luck. :)

Wow thanks for sharing your story! This is great to hear. I have a good professional relationship with my SA. I wouldn’t say we are best friend since I know he is treating me as an average customer. I will do the same after I get my first QB, and Try my luck at another boutique and see if I really end up clicking with another SA!!!

Thanks for this! What do you think is the spend level to be invited to the RTW event?
