I like the mono and the damier speedy on guys, as long as the guys aren't straight. Then again, i can't imagine a straight guy carrying a speedy unless it's for his girlfriend.

Hey luxeluxe
I'm a straight guy and I'm planning on buying a speedy 40!
I have many bags maybe as many as my girlfriend has!!! inclyding bags as the birkin and mulberry bayswater!
And I carry my girlfriend's purses as many times as she carries mine! And she's totally ok with it as many girls I know!
I don't know what you meant about gay and straight guys...
In my universe the bag doesn't show sexual preferences...
It's all about taste! So it looks good on a gay guy and bad on a straight guy? Even when they have the same frame????

I'm glad I live in Europe...no stupid prejudices here!!!!

P.S I'm tired of dividing men to 2 categories!!! We are all the same...some like bags and some don't...it's all about needs, likes and again personal taste!

Hey, as a guy with a Speedy 40... I can tell you that it looks just fine...

I was in your shoes a couple weeks ago, and all the people on here were telling me to get a keepall... or a carryall... which would be a great idea if you plan on taking four changes of clothes with you everywhere you go, or if you want to drop $1,000... yeah its great advice... but if you want to wear a speedy... THEN F****** CARRY A SPEEDY! Or... you could listen to the closed minded people on this forum who are telling you too carry a piece of luggage everyday... its your call...

In the end of the day who is it going to affect? You... or the countless closeminded people on this website whom you will probably never meet?

(Hopefully you picked the right answer: YOU!)

I almost didn't get the speedy... I almost went for a bosphore... then I remembered why I was buying the bag in the first place... because I loved it... not because some people on a purse forum told me it would look good.

(in fact I have gotten lots of compliments on my speedy... several in the first day actually...)

So you can carry luggage as a man bag because some idiot said it was the "guy" thing to do...

OR! you can carry a speedy because its what "YOU" want to do!

Its your call dude! Do it wisely!

it really depends who u are, snoop dog can cause his an artist... no one really gives what he does, he can get away with many things. so take a step back n look at your self and how u would appeal with a speedy.

sorry! i'm from the u.s., europeans, whole different story, you guys are more fashionable than straight guys in the u.s., it's just true. i've been to europe over 15 times, seems much different here. at least to me.

Really, if you like it than you should get it. I'd hate to carry around a piece of luggage all day for the few things I have in my purse. I think it should make you happy before anything else. I am just imagining doing simple things like going out to eat at a crowded deli. You have to find out where your going to put your luggage.

Or, getting in your car or through the gates at a subway station...or if you set it in front of you at the mall or beside you while eating you're going to have to watch to make sure people don't trip on it. Plus, wouldn't it just get plain heavy?

The keepall is just to large to really move around with every day! That's my opinion. My husband carrys a bag to work everyday. He'd go crazy if he didn't have it. And even more so if I touched something and it got out of place, lol.

Now that I think about it...I think he probably has as many bags as me! :wtf:

Hey Luxeluxe
There shouldn't be any difference!
I hope you didn't get my post as an assault!!!
All I was trying to say is that we should judge someone by their taste and if what he wears are according to his frame and style!
And worse is making someone who wears bags feel guilty as many fellow americans have done! What do you care??? not you...anyone who judges!!!
Hope I wasn't misinterpreted!

I'm not closed minded- he was asking for our opinions and I replied that I was not a fan of the way speedies looked on men. It's not about social stigmas or categorizing people- it's about what looks good, and in my personal opinion I don't think speedies look good on men (myself included).
