Speedy on a Male

You can if you want to, I know a lot of people are going to be thinking of this purely on a gender basis, like WHY can't a guy wear it? But honestly, it doesn't look right. Out of 100% of males and females only a few males actually carry a Speedy. You can "break the rules" and people will think it's cool, but I don't think it looks good at all. It's just more for a woman than a man.
For a man it should be nothing smaller than the Keepall. In my opinion anything smaller than that looks as if he's either holding his girlfriend's bag for her - or just plain ridiculous.

If only Louis Vuitton made more affordable bags for men, then we wouldn't resort to wearing speedies! There are several Women's bags of a decent size in the $600-800 range eg. Neverfull, Speedy, BV etc, but very few bags at this price point in the Men's section - there are only fanny packs/bum bags and bags such as the Olav PM and Pochette Bosphore, with about enough space for a paperback book - nothing nearly as spacious as the women's bags!
Ultimately you have to do what's right for you. I don't think people should be be bound by what others think look good. Forget about it in terms of a man vs. woman bag. Is the bag the right size for you? Is is the right price for you? Is it a style that you like and always wanted to wear? Do what you think is best and when you buy it, take pics and show us how great you look!

maybe if LV made canvas bags for men in a pattern that didn't also make women's bags, I think it would be very successful.
Well, I think the Damier Graphite line will be really cute for guys. Me and my SA we're getting all excited talking about it last night! And those bags look really roomy for a guy too! (I hope it'll cost the same as the Damier and Azur bags.)
As a guy, I can honestly say that a speedy does not make for a good men's bag. Just for sh*ts and giggles I held a 40 at my store and it looked like a toy on me- definitely a "handbag". I'm not opposed to men with messengers, totes, or even masculine clutches but the speedy just doesn't do it for me.
