I've been wanting to do a MTO of the 2 motif earrings (WG MoP) but I dont want to wait 3-9 months! Also, I officially got information from an SA that MTO is 85,000 spend, and special order which isn't preapproved is significantly higher.
I cannot believe that SA is playing these games with you. It is absolutely not true that you have to spend $85000. I have not purchased anything in the past 5 years, but still was offered a special order opportunity for two motif earrings. I have purchase history that goes back to 2010 and it is not not near $85000.

These are the Vegas boutiques, I have a feeling they’re lying. They told me to have a special order which had an alternating motif, that they won’t approve someone whose “only spent” 85,000. “Only”… These SAs are delusional and are completely out of touch with reality.

They are lying and trying to make commissions by luring you into buying what you may not necessarily like with the hope for SO. Do not swallow the bait. Only buy what appeals to you regardless of fashionistas, influencers, sisters-in-law, and girl-friends 😂

I agree, yesterday an SA in Vegas was making it a fight to cancel my deposit. I had another bad experience with a different Vegas boutique which was pressuring me to have something ordered for delivery the next day when I told her I’m doing a deposit and will be collecting it when im there at the end of the month and she then told me I was wasting her time and how I wanted “all these items but purchased none”. She said she placed special orders with me and how she spent 2 hours doing them and said I’m not even buying anything which wasn’t even the case, she just did not listen to what I said when I was assigned to her because she saw dollar signs in her eyes. I yelled at her to cancel it because she was using it against me and assumed I wasn’t going to buy anything. I then blocked that entire store and removed my deposit from a different boutique and no longer will shop from boutiques unless it’s MTO. Just completely over these SAs

Honestly all these ridiculous experiences that people are having with vca is really putting me off the brand.
Shopping for luxury items, especially jewelry should be fun and enjoyable and feel luxurious, not stressful or pressured.

I agree, I told her that, and the head director AND assistant manager. I said that luxury isn’t being rude, neither are you entitled to a sale. I just hate the whole idea of SAs now, they have completely ruined the experience for me.

I was told the same by two diff boutiques
Depends which country maybe ? I am in Europe and not the case here. But here they seem to value local buyers the more and “tourist” buyers shall maybe not experience the same as local buyers (that’s my understanding). I think the best is to nourish a good relationship with one boutique. I had to change SA because one left and the new one seems to offer me the same kind of relation so keeping in touch with the same boutique is what they expect (when The Manager comes to say hello is a good sign I think)

Yes. I have a high yearly spend for years. I have not had an SO approved and when I have asked about an often approved, at least going from posts here, GMOP piece I was told maybe they would make it some day and not offered the option to MTO.

As a high spending regular customer I don’t know what my SA expected if SO or MTO are not options. Actually I do, they expected me to buy duplicate pieces saying I could keep one in a different home or to suddenly decide I liked metals I had never been interested in or develop a lifestyle that calls for multiple hj purchases.

Thanks to this forum I know what is available and what I am missing, and now I am taking a break indefinitely and will switch SAs when and if I go back to VCA

I'm sorry to hear about your poor experience with your sa. Idk why they think it's acceptable to treat anyone this way, let alone a high spender. I can totally understand why you're taking a break and hopefully your experience doesn't spoil your enjoyment of the pieces you already have.

I didn’t realise i was being treated badly till this forum and I finally had the courage to do something about it and demand to have my SA changed finally after so many attempts. I just want a few more pieces to complete my collection but they make it so difficult

Honestly a little crazy that there's so many bad experiences with VCA SAs! 9/10 experiences for me have been amazing, and most were actually in Vegas! The only thing was my previous SA used to be really nice but the last time I went in, she was super pushy and made me really bad about not getting the piece so I didn't know if I wanted to go back there when I needed to resize my new bracelet (purchased secondhand). I decided to go to a different boutique and I felt really guilty at first but I ended up finding a new SA is super down to do all the MTO and SO pieces I want to do and I had the best time just running through ideas with him. Because of him, I know I'm going to be able to build an amazing collection and get my dream pieces, no compromises. So if I can share anything I learned, lesson is if you guys don't love your SA, switch!! Don't feel guilty doing it!

I tried to do a SO in Vegas (Crystals) and the lady became extremely rude towards me because she requested other items and I didn’t buy them, she didn’t listen to the fact that I wanted to do a deposit on the item and see it in store and then I got furious, so I ended up yelling at her. The male SAs are usually a lot nicer, the women are so pushy and rude. Lesson for everyone else: it’s okay to be indecisive. 1000 is a lot of money, so is 10000, especially in this economy. So, to be pushy on a 20,000 sale is absolute insanity (from my experience). Maybe I just value money a bit more than other clients as I grew up very poor, im not sure, but the pushiness on these sales is insanity.
