Another bag score from my visit to Madison Ave. I didn’t even ask nor was I thinking of purchasing another bag. The Hermes karma was apparently on my side. Each time I was not looking, the opportunity came itself. Can’t complain!
Wow! Didn't know they made black canvas with black leather (is it Togo?). Very nice combination.

@fonnas ! I took another detour to your IG! I didn't realize that one of our resident style gurus has a Cityback!

I have been eyeing it on the website since it was available for a few days but didn't pull the trigger because of the price.

What do you think about it? Do you use it for everyday/work use? Is it hardy enough for the travails of everyday life? I assume it fits a laptop ok, and is easy to get in and out of (unlike the lovely but more cumbersome kelly depeches/hac a dos, for example)? Any style comments?

It is my go to when I go into the office. Fits loads and then some. Laptop 13"to 15", small pouch for various items, Ulysse PM Notebook, sunglasses, vision glasses, small water bottle. This is the only bag that I do not baby. I throw it around. It's a workhorse. I love the design and I like how it's snug fit to my back when worn vs. drooping/slouching like other lux backpacks. I tend to swap it with the Barenia Porte-Documents Sac à Dépêches for client meetings, more formal. So yes, perfect for day to day work/life/travel. I dont think they make these anymore. I have not seen them on for ages. If you see one you should def grab it.

Agree with this as well. I would consider a 30 as well for a more versatile. My B is not for everyday use. I wanted it to be both day and travel approved.
If an SA allows you to choose sizes. They usually only present one item in a size you want.

thank you! Yes it’s Togo

Question: who could tell me which Hermès wallet has more than 4 credit card slots and a bill pocket?
Bearn trifold wallet (combiné) - has 6 credit card slots (4 vertical/portrait + 2 horizontal/landscape slots), bill pocket and zipped pocket for change…

Am thinking of getting one for hubs (and have been watching this thread for intel)… not sure though if this is jeans- pocket-friendly, and would appreciate some feedback… TIA…

Thank you so much! I went with Cartier’s Multiple Wallet because it has 9 credit card slots. However I did purchase the Hermès R.M.S. passport holder in Gold and am very excited! IMG_2131.jpeg

You can request to try on for size, the various bags they have in the leather department for this very purpose. I think a 35 would cover most bases and suit you well. Any good SA would also be able to give you advice. Good luck then.
If you are lucky enough to get a leather appointment, you can ask the SA for a view of the bags in different sizes. I did that when I was there and they were happy to bring out a couple different sizes for me to compare. Hope that helps

My Kelly Depeches 25 in Black Galop d’Hermès cowhide.

There’s not much information out there about Galop d’Hermès leather, but from my initial observations it seems to be similar to Ardennes leather.

Feel free to watch, read, or contribute to this thread that I started, so we may hopefully compile more information about it!

Incase anyone was curious on how I plan on using the Kelly Depeches 25 as a crossbody…purchased this strap from Etsy.

I think the leather loop vs d-ring method (as others have shared) to attach the strap to the sangles, should reduce friction and strain on the sangles. After all, the sangles were not designed to carry weight.

(Also kind of funny how similar the Galop D’Hermes leather grain is compared to the Etsy “Togo” leather grain lol)

DH just ordered his first custom shirt (Cross post from latest purchases and M2M thread) Starts at 1100 USD, but bc he wants some details changed and added, SA estimates 1600USD to be paid in full as soon as H confirms our order is approved. The muslin or toile pattern takes 2 months. When it arrives there can be additional adjustments to fit. Then three months more for the finished garment. This is significantly more expensive than Turnbull NY full bespoke (I think 600 USD) or charvet, Paris (maybe 700 per shirt. But at Charvet, DH has MtM with ample tweaking as charvet said he didn’t need custom ).

But, unlike Turnbull or charvet, DH deliberately chose a fabric and details for a more fashion piece than straight sartorial. If it comes out perfectly (at this price, perfection is expected), it will be the first of many. Subsequent shirts will take 3 months since the pattern is already made. ETA: the fabric is like marron fonce with microscopic h‘s. (We couldnt tell until we were told the pattern was comprised of mini H‘s lol. He also wants a contrast band in a black and white fine pinstripe, so when the shirt is buttoned you only see a tiny bit. And, I think that same contrast on the inner cuff.

Not for DH, but if any of you guys would like custom silk scarf shirts, they are beautiful. But much more expensive. You have to buy 5 silk Scarves from an approved list and then about 2K more for labor. So about 4.5K USD. There is a special thread for M2M clothing. https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/m2m-hermes-rtw.1056259/page-4 Here is an example our SA sent that I think would be a great fashion shirt for either men or women:
