I had lunch today with my friend @J.T and asked him to model my bag for me
Today it wasn't a gym bag. I used it to carry my Prada and Moreau bags that I showed him. #bagLadies

After lunch, we went to our main objective for the day, which was for him to try on a 35 B at the store. They only had an orange demo Birkin 35 but it's fine. We were only after the size.

I think the size is perfect for him. He has a month to decide whether he wants to put his name on the wishlist or not. He's also eyeing a similar-sized Cabat at BV.

The list at our store opens at the end of the month. I'm excited on what he will eventually pick

1000000000% looks like the perfect size (and style) for him!
I am biased as I also just got my first B35 (gold togo) and it continues to grow on me every day. When I was offered the bag and saw it in the store, it seemed small....but the more I carry it, the more "right" it feels in size - not too big, not too small. Just right. I'd say similar overall capacity as my K40 but just in a different configuration.
Can't wait to see what he picks!!

SO happy to see all these mod shots.... thanks gents for the inspiration!

Has anyone added/what do you think about adding a (thick evelyn-like) strap to a kelly depeches 25 and using that as a casual bag? I had tried the Hac a Dos GM, but that was way too big on my 5'5" frame - not sure if the PM would feel better. I feel like the Hac a Dos is cooler - but I also.... might not be that cool. As a more rectangular bag, the modifed (+strap) kelly depeches might seem more traditional. I guess I could go with the sac a depeches as well, which would also save me $$, but I guess it's not as fancy as the kelly.

Thanks all!

I am not sure how you could do that; probably not a good idea

I think that would be okay to do. As long as it says the old style Depeches with the rings at the top handle. I don't think the new style has the hardware that you can attach a strap to. I even knew someone that attached his LV Keepall leather strap to the Depeches and it looked great.

Thanks guys! The 35 definitely felt like the right size.

I am in such a dilemma though…

As Allan mentioned I really liked the Birkin, but I am a harcore BV fan and been considering adding a small cabat to my collection. Just adding the pic of the cabat here for reference.

Any thought?

Given that you’ve just added the large Cabat to your collection, my vote goes to the Birkin, 100%.

I would keep my eye out for a pre-owned small Cabat after the Birkin potentially.

If you are a hardcore BV fan don't feel obligated to join H at this time.
I get the appeal of a classic H style, but intrecciato is very special.

So lucky you get to shop with @allanrvj !

And wow, talk about consistency. Since I've met you on TPF, you have talked about how much you love the Cabat (and BV). I think that you may be able to get a small Cabat through the pre-owned market at a good price, like how you got your other one.

Getting a Birkin from the boutique is another experience. I highly recommend it. And some Birkins sell for more on the resale market (depending on condition and size) so you may not be able to get it cheaper on the pre-owned market, unlike the Cabat.

@fonnas did this, and it looked amazing
but do try the HAC a dos PM (a post a few pages back showed what fits inside)

@aaa3 , I also prefer the LV. The sac a depeches 21 is a much larger bag

I like the birkin much more than the cabat, but I guess depending on your social environment, birkin could be difficult to wear in some situations because it's oversaturated on social media. It's one of the most practical bags and more so than the cabat as it can be closed, so it's a shame, but I have found that the comment below on a recent post on the possible Chanel price increase could apply to birkin as well. It's the main reason why I'm not interested in birkin anymore, even if it's really is a beautiful and very practical bag. This is very personal though, and it's the only con I could think of with the birkin. :biggrin:I actually think the orange looks awesome!
