Nothing wrong with what has been shown in the pics
Pls stop using magnifying or zoom lens to analyse stitch by stitch
and start enjoying the bag.

the "cracks" are part of the texture of the leather if the ones at the edges you are referring to?

There's a crack in the resin (2nd pic) where the flap starts to fold over.

@fonnas and others, seeking your advice again! My Kelly depeches got here, and I’m super excited about it. I SHOULD have zero doubt about authenticity since it came from H directly, but doesn’t the stitching look a bit rough without the usual clean lines? Is it just a combination of (a) the angles of the lines in the bag, (b) the contrast stitching, and (c) my own fussiness? Does yours have similar issues? It’d be absurd to suspect that someone might’ve returned a fake and H didn’t catch it, right? Thanks as always.

Contrasting stitching shows the craftsmanship more. I think the stitching looks fine. Saddle stitching is seldom perfect (which is more reminiscent of machine stitching.

If it bothers you, you could see if there's a colour you like equally without the contrast stitching.

I'm not so happy about the crack in the resin edging though

I'm so grateful to everyone above for being so quick and insightful with your thoughts.

Truth is, this is my first expensive H bag for myself, after a very happy journey supporting my DW on her H journey over the last year. I'm so wrapped up in H that I love spending time with you fine folks every day , and I've put myself in charge of taking out and putting back her bags every time she uses any of them, because even touching the orange boxes brings me joy to remember how we've helped her get on the H train (Call me crazy). But I'm quite frugal on myself, and this $8000+ purchase is a HUGE step for me. Hence the extra worry about the stitches looking more rough than our other H bags. Thanks so much for identifying the cracked resin. I know this is not an authentication thread, and all of your expert eyes on this gives me so much comfort on the stitching (and something to think about on the resin).

I do not see any faults in the stitches. These bags are hand made/sown. It will never be perfect as a machine made. That's the beauty of it, at least for me. And as for the crack in resin, this is where the flap folds and I'd consider that normal as well. It will crack with usage in that area sooner rather than later even if it wasn't cracked upon receipt.
See attached photo of mine, the sitting on the interior some are straight on the right and some are angled. Does it bother me? no. See a comparison of each corner with the resin. Each is different, some will say poorly made and it will crack. Does it bother me? no. I've had the bag for a year and half and used it over a dozen time. Has anything changed? no.
I do not consider these defects or poor manufacturing. A defect would be something more extreme. This is what gives my bag its own identity and personality.
You and only you can decide if you can live with these. Should you decide to return that bag, trust me that bag will be sold momentarily once H takes it back.

Awesome. Is it meant to be worn as a "backpack", or more as a crossbody/bumbag type in the front?

à dos means for the back
hence Sac à Dos and now HAC à Dos

I must confess that that the meaning did not click with me when I used to see the letters without spaces in the name Sacados

The HAC à Dos is an inspired response to the way that a lot of people were using traditional double strap backpacks slung over one shoulder. However they look incredibly impractical to use,
but the Kelly-style fastenings should be a good deterrent to pick-pockets.
Perhaps fatcat2533 can come the defence of the style.

Thank you. I do wear it both backpack and front bum bag style. I found it is easier wearing in the front. In terms of getting in and out of the bag, I do not strap the straps in. Since the square turn key has to turn left and right in order to release the straps.

Thanks--do you have any shots of you wearing it across the front...that might convince me to concentrate my efforts into procuring one.

Is anyone familiar with the mechanism of the sac a depeches jewel lock? I recently acquired the sac a depeches 21 and the lock pins inside the keyhole on the jewel lock are always in a horizontal position, whether the bag is locked or unlocked, while the same pins in stock photos from many websites including Hermès always show these pins in a vertical position. Thoughts welcome! 0DC764BC-F0F8-453A-832F-9734D233A5CD.jpegFAEBFC21-66CF-419B-B500-F644DBF3172D.jpeg01923CBB-26FB-49E3-9E58-61DAFE396AFB.jpeg0DC764BC-F0F8-453A-832F-9734D233A5CD.jpeg34A14DE8-076F-4C06-A86F-2D8BAE29829C.jpeg

Hello Gents!

I want to dedicate this space especially for us guys to talk about our B/K/C, and other other rare/quota bags or exotic accessories we acquired (there is already another thread "Space for Guys & their Hermes", but I felt that was for anything Hermes including RTW, jewelry, general stuff, and regular bags you can get from website or walk-in). Let's keep this forum to celebrating the special goodies; and also to discuss the journey you went through to be offered your first (or second or third bag) bag from H.

Don't be afraid to post pics of your special bags or model them for us. Let's have some fun and create this safe space for just us guys.

I am relatively new to my "pre-spend" journey, and notice the women have a lot more goodies they'd have changes to buy & build up pre-spend (relatively speaking, men don't have so many options:sad:), so would love to hear of you guys' pre-spend/quota bag experiences, whether wild or easy! :yahoo:
