Michael Kors Signature Bags

The way I see it is, doesn't matter if MK did the zip tote before LV. Michael Kors was creative director for Celine designing accessories and RTW which is owned by Louis Vuitton. All of these designers intermix and us customers are on the other side just buying up the product with no real knowledge. MK is an awesome designer and alot of people get his 2 lines mixed up. I personally have not be impressed with his last 2-3 seasons of accessories on the Micheal Micheal Kors side, but I LOVE the Miranda bag which is on the Micheal Kors label. I really don't like signature bags from any label, but I have several LV mono bags but they are vintage and I had them before this whole signature business was even an issue.

Thanks for commenting Apelila! I didn't even realize that many people judged others on the bag they carry until I started on here, but I guess it's the same as when people judge you for the clothes and shoes you wear, or the car you drive and so on and so on, such a ridiculous waste of time! You have a good day too!

Same here, especially regarding monogram bags. When I first joined, I was torn on what my first MK bag should be and one of the options was a Hamilton with the logo. A lot of people said to go with a solid color because they thought that bags with MK plastered all over it looked tacky or too flashy, like they scream "Look-at-my-MK-bag".
I don't feel that way because we wear all kinds of labels and logos that can be easily recognized by others that know the label... I don't buy things to be flashy, I buy them because I like them. I do think that some of the monogram MK bags look better than others but we all prefer different styles and colors over others so it's not really a big deal.

@jclaybo, for some reason I'm not able to quote your reply, my iPhone cuts me off when I try, but I don't think it matters either, I was just trying to make a point because people say MK always copies LV, you are right they probably are all connected somehow anyway.
I buy Michael by Michael Kors because that is what I like and can afford, I realize the premier line may be of a slightly better quality, but I'm not going to skip a meal just to get a bag, well maybe, lol. If I could afford it I would buy his premier bags in a second. The Miranda tote is nice I agree. I don't mind the signature bags, a lot of companies advertise their products on products, like t shirts, hats, etc. I realize that's not everyone's cup of tea and that is fine, it just makes me angry when people say they are tacky to a person knowing they like them.

@jvxoxo, I agree with you too! I personally think the signature Hamiltons are nice. Of course I like the solid colors too! I'm to the point in my life if someone doesn't like something about me, whether it's a bag, my clothes, my hair, whatever, don't look at me, I'm not here on Earth to please them!

Personally.. I think there is nothing wrong about mk. I have d lv neverfull as well as d mk saffiano travel tote. I love em both. I dont get it when ppl kept saying mk copied lv... hey seriously ? What about d gucci boston bag? Prada has the wing-ed bag too... those die hard lv fans have to be considerate. Anyone can buy bags from any designers !

@loewejess. I know! To look down on someone because of the bag they carry is so wrong! I'm sorry to say it is mostly LV fans that I've seen make those comments, I know not all LV fans are like that though, don't want to offend anyone! Thanks for your input!

I happen to like Siggy bags, always have, always will. I'm not sure why people look down on them, but whatever. I also have very plain leather bags and very loud/goudy (according to my sister) but its up to me what I want to wear when I want to wear it, to hell with the bag snobs, there's so many of them on this forum.

I have 1 MK and mostly Coach. In the Coach forum its the same thing Siggy bags have the plague and MFF (made for factory/outlet only) bags have leprosy, it's really ridiculous. I lurked in the LV forum and those women where downright evil towards anything that was considered less than or not premier, must be sad to be that shallow.

I don't look down on signature bags of any brand, but I prefer leather. I don't carry signature. I just don't get paying same or near same for something that isn't leather and if we are in a sense advertising for that company carrying those logos, it should be discounted! Lol

I buy what I like and couldn't care less about what others think. Some people have no self-esteem and have to try to bring others down to build themselves up.

News Flash for Haters: Being able to buy a premier designer handbag does not equate to having any true character or class.

Thanks ladies for your opinions and input! I picked up my MK Vanilla Monogram pocket tote tonight from Macy's, I don't care if it's considered tacky by some or it's not considered a real MK because it's Michael by Michael Kors, just like Coach, I will buy a factory bag and I don't care, it still is made by Coach, just as Michael by Michael Kors is still by Michael Kors, I just think it's all ridiculous how people split hairs over it. I'm not a bag snob, I'll buy a no name bag if I think it's nice. The purse you carry doesn't make you who you are, it's just an accessory!

I actually think it's nice that some designers have an affordable line for consumers that may not have thousands to spend on a purse but would like to get a designer bag. I'm just waiting for the CoCo line by Chanel to come out, lol. I don't think that will happen though!

I like MK's PVC siggy bags like the Grayson. Canvas siggy bags like Coach's are not my preference, mostly because the market is oversaturated with them and there are way too many knock-offs. I don't look down on anyone for wearing a canvas siggy, but when I see someone wearing an obvious knockoff (like a "Goach....lol")...I do think it looks a bit lame! :nogood:!

I have some signature MK totes that I adore. These two Totes I love as they are easy to carry and fit all my stuff in and easy to reach items especially when I am traveling. I have received tons of compliments on both totes and they are both siggy mk totes.
Here is a pic of the two two totes of mine that I had to have once I saw them. I feel if the siggy is done correctly, it can look really beautiful :D

There are facts, backed by real evidence, and then there's your perception of reality, which isn't.
I'm fortunate to live in a nice area where I see all kinds of people carrying many different brands and styles without fear of judgment. I'm glad to have gotten nothing but compliments on my "blingy, tacky, cheap, and ghetto" Hamilton bags

+ 1. Where I live is the same, I've said it before, to judge someone on the brand or style they carry is wrong in many ways. I carry an MK vanilla monogram bag (bought at Macy's) and I'm not trashy and anyone that knows me knows I'm not trashy, so if I would happen to go into a community where they label people on the bag they are carrying, their issues, not mine!
