I noticed that I RARELY see advertising from this brand, not much in way of promotions. If they promoted it half as much as they did L'Oreal, I doubt they would be having this problem.

can anyone comment on how prevalent shu is in large U.S. markets? do you have multiple places where you can buy the brand or is it very limited?

in houston (which is a very large city) there is literally ONE place to buy shu and that's neimans. i don't have a neiman's card, nor do i have an amex (which is useless outside of north america), so i cannot buy in-store unless i have taken out cash (which isn't something i normally do). last time i was in houston, i could only buy a couple of things because i did not have any cash. if NM took visa, who knows how much i would have spent.

i know you can buy shu online, but i do not like purchasing cosmetics online since colors vary drastically. unless i'm well-versed in a brand will i purchase online. i am really sad to hear shu is leaving the U.S. because i feel they are one of the few brands left that warrant the price tag.

i know of two places in the DFW that sell shu. and both are in neiman marcus. :\

Its too bad shu uemura is leaving the US. I love my shu products. Shu Uemura is also pretty prevalent where I live (San Francisco). It can be found at the Shu Uemura store located in Fillmore, NM and Nordstroms as well.

This just means I better stock up on their cleansing oil !!

Shu has their onwn cosmetic boutiques, there is one here in So. Cal . (South coach Plaza) there are about 1/2 a dozen around the US. i have called and ordered directly from them before, because i didn't want to wait for a web order at the time.. im not sure if they are run by L'Oreal or not, would not hurt to call a SA and ask. i know you can find a listing of the stores on their website.

They have done shows on QVC, by Jason Hoffman, one of their main MU Artist in the US.

i love Shu's foundation powder.

wow, i can't believe that they are leaving the US market. this is very disappointing. i don't know if i'll ever part with their cleansing oils and eyelash curler. i just bought a huge haul of their stuff last year and loved all the new products i tried out. i will definitely visit their boutiques next time i'm in japan...

i bought a few items yesterday. the makeup woman told me that they will be 100% leaving the US by May; that is if they even have enough product by then. This counts for the whole US including their namesake makeup boutiques.

eta: they were already sold out of a few items i wanted. :(
