I forget about the FB page!I know I owe you Bal Pics as well. Summer rough for me.I have 7 acres and there is so much yardwork to do .It's starting to cool down here, will be so glad when I don't have to mow grass anymore. Have done no rehabs all summer, but I have a pile. I hope to start again by the end of the month. I tried taking pics today, but was too cloudy, will try again, I didn't forget you!

Dang, lady! I thought I had it bad with two acres to keep up with - you've got me way beat! So thankful for John Deere! :D I'm also looking forward to the Fall - if for no other reason than not having to deal with the crazy weeds on our front walk! Since DH and I both work so far from home (and he travels a lot), we haven't been doing the best job of keeping up with them and now our front beds are starting to look like Vietnam!! :p

I found a beautiful yellow framed kisslock vintage bag at the thrift store today. Hyacinth feels that it is genuine but she cannot id the bag. Has anyone here ever seen a similar vintage bag? Thanks!

OMG - I love this!!!! The kisslock, the color - just beautiful. Wish the thrift stores in our area had such cute finds! While I love Station Bags, there's only so many black ones a gal can rehab, ya know? ;)

I know! I had been looking through the racks at Savers and all I found was a nice condition black Janice's Legacy for $23. I was debating buying it but I am currently struggling with a bad condition black Janice's Legacy and so I wasn't too excited about the prospect.

I stopped at the front counter where they keep the "Expensive Bags" under protective custody. I asked to look at 2 station bags (black and brown) but decided against them. I had doubts about the authenticity of one and the other wasn't in great shape for the price. I think they were asking $30 each for them.

There was a gorgeous, good condition, black leather and silver hardware Gucci backpack there and I think that it was real. It was offered at a good price ($30 or $40?) but I wasn't interested in another backpack, so I passed.

The yellow bag was kind of hidden behind some other bags including a large, poor condition MK bag and I almost didn't ask to look at it - I didn't even think it was a Coach bag!

But as soon as I got a good look at it and had my hands on it all I could think was "this bag is mine!" I would have paid the asking price of $40 just to own it, but the fact that I had a 30% off coupon that brought it down to $28 made the deal even sweeter!

I quickly forgot about the black Janice's Legacy, although it is a nice bag. My joy was complete when I found the missing hangtag inside that beautiful yellow bag. I wish I knew more about it!

After visiting about 60 thrift stores in five different cities, I finally found my first Coach, well sort of. I found a dustbag! I wonder what happened to the purse that it came with. I think that all of the thrift stores I have visited keep the Coach for themselves!

I went to a consignment store today and they had plenty of very high priced Coach. The best deal was a black leather Mandy for $135. I sort of regret not getting it but I didn't think I could handle the separating zipper. If it had been a different color or $50 cheaper, I would have gotten it.

OmG ....how frustrating for you!! I am not as lucky as Katev, but I get lucky enough often enough that I know I am spoiled!!! Sometimes, (more so lately), I do better on ebay than thrift stores. At least on ebay I can get it authenticated first, and the prices at most of my thrift stores have gotten ridiculous as time goes.

And I'm not in love with the break away zippers either, tho' I put up with it on my cobalt patent gallery tote because I just love the color, and roominess of that bag.

Aaaack...just now caught that you'd seen such a cheap GUCCI....I'd have been all over that LOL. But if I'd have had to choose just one, It would have been the Coach!!

I was tempted by the gucci but I'm not very familar with them like I am with coach and it was a backpack, so I decided to pass. But it looked good and the leather was very nice. Maybe I should have taken it anyway because Savers lets you exchange items within a week of purchase. Oh well!

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't had much luck with thrift stores and $135 is a lot for a bag you don't love. Another great bag will come along soon!

I forgot to mention that DH found a Coach in one of the stores hanging on a hook behind the counter. When he asked about it, it turned out that it belonged to one of the employees!

I have been buying a lot of ebay but the shipping always adds about $10 to the price so you can never get those $2 deals. I just bought the cheapest Coach I have ever gotten on ebay - $3 plus $8.13 shipping for a basic bag. I also bought a lot for $70. It includes 4 leather vintage Coach purses, one vintage wallet, an eyeglass case and a cute striped satchel. That is probably the best deal I have gotten. I haven't received either of these purchases yet.

I'm in the same boat here whateve. I finally found a Savers and they had dozens of bags but all were junk. I got dh to stop at good will, salvation army and a few thrift stores across three states and found nothing. I'm stuck with eBay too. (Shipping is a bummer too!) Of course there are the fb swap/sell pages but I see lots of strange looking sigs with $30 price tags and ppl all over them like they were the deal of the century. One lady even told someone she "thinks" the bag is real when asked!

To add insult to injury, I drove 100 miles to the nearest mall to have a bag sent for repair. Walked the whole mall and not one Coach boutique in the entire place. I finally found an information desk and they said they've never had one there. :-( I guess moving is out of the question. . . . .sigh. . . .

Reading about all your thrift store finds, and Ebay finds, I thought I might share this one. I haven't put pictures of this bag anywhere because it hasn't turned out that well, but this is my one and only thrift/ vintage store Coach find. I was on a trip to Sydney with my husband and daughter (to see Jack White, yay!) and we were wandering up a street in Sydney well known for vintage stores. So we all go into one and I spot a RED feed bag/ duffle. I think to myself, "gee, that looks like Coach, but it won't be, all the way down here". Anyway, it's an NYC duffle. By this time my husband has seen me with the bag, so I take it over to the sales lady and ask how much it is (too much). My husband pipes up that I "restore" old Coach bags, and shows the lady my suspender bag (that I just conditioned, nothing more). Long story short, I walk out with the red duffle and high hopes. Here are the before pics. She was quite beat up. After are the after pics - an improvement, but not great. She is now my work bag, used 4 days a week for carting my stuff too and from my office.

The first red bag that I tried to restore, a collegiate bag, came out looking like that and so I put it away and forgot about it. I am thinking of getting some red color restorer to try and revive it, see link below. It comes in several shades of red. You may be able to find a similar product that is locally available.

I have found sometimes that consignment store are pretty expensive when it comes to designer stuff. For example, the consginment store had a small sophia for $160. Th Dillards a few blocks down had them on sale for $130ish! But I did get a coach bag at the same store for $18 bucks just because it had some pen ink on it (which came out).
