I'll pop a photo of the Stewardess on my long toro mannequin tomorrow and see how it looks. I am also long torso'd but not as tall since I was cursed with short legs. but I can manage the crossbody ok.

$30? Nice. Mine is the same era, made in Costa Rica. I just recall that there was a thread where someone was discussing the actual true original Stewardess bags had shorter straps than these. I know I'll never find it. I don't think they were significantly shorter, but it seems like several people measured their strap lengths and came up with different numbers.
OK, I think this is the thread I was thinking of where there are several posts discussing strap lengh on stewardess bags. I can wear mine crossbody in a pinch, but even though I'm short, I'm long waisted and busty, so it's not that comfortable for me. It just hits too high.

Mine is also Costa Rican, made in 2002. When I wear it crossbody on the longest setting the top of the bag hits me at the top of my hip. I am 5'4". For me this length is ideal because it is easy to reach inside the bag. The drop is only 18 1/2 inches. Some of my smaller bags have a drop of 21 or 22. I think this is pretty standard, having a shorter drop on a bigger bag.
I think you're right. This one works out well because it is such a BIG bag in its body size that if the strap were longer, the bottom of the bag would be down somewhere mid thigh on some people...especially on my short legs LOL. So, even tho' I'm longer torso'd at 5'6" it still works ok for me at the longest setting.
Found this today for $18 marked down from $60 at a consignment shop. The scarf matches but is not coach (bought from goodwill.) I made this as a surprise present for my mom who never buys what she calls "expensive purses." I had to clean it up abit and get rid of some pen ink.

Looks like it might be okay. I'm fairly flat chested so I think it might work.
FYI, there is a light green Regina up for auction on ebay at the link below. It looks very pretty but I am not an authenticator (and I noticed that the vendor does not have any feedback scores.)
