OMG! I love it! I have been on a mad search for this shape.

Thank you, I have also been on a search. My confession, many years ago my aunt gave me this similar bag in brown, it had seen better days, she was an avid thrift store shopper. Not knowing any better I threw it out during a cleaning binge as I had no idea how to rehab the bag (pre tPF ). All these years later I still can't believe I did that! When I found this one I almost fell over :smile1:

I know how you feel. I used to buy a new Coach every year in the late 70's - early 80's and give my old one to Goodwill. I wish I had them back. What really bothers me is that I can't remember what styles they were.

Yesterday I went to the Savers Thrift Store. That is always a risk but I have been carrying a 30% off coupon for quite some time and it expires on 7/28/12. I suppose that I could have let the coupon expire and save my money but that didn't occur to me!

Last week I found a mahagony cosmetic bag for $0.99 and this week I found her tan sister at $0.70 after the coupon. At first I was just going to buy the case without using the coupon (and come back before it expired) until I fell for a beautiful brown bag that was held hostage behind the front counter.

It is a large brown hippie flap bag 9134 and they had it marked $40 which is too much IMO for its current condition. It is missing the hangtag and it has a bad ink stain inside; but the coupon brought the price down to $28 so I went for it! This is the first large hippie flap I have seen and the leather is so soft and lush!

The AT links for my new buys are below, but I am pretty sure that they are genuine (but I have been fooled before!)

Not having much luck at my favorite thrift shops, mostly because everything is picked over from one of their big region-wide half off coupon sales. I managed to grab a fake Station Bag....ugg. Beautiful, but fake.

But... Ebay has still yielded some decent deals lately. I got this Lexingtong Tote, made in Italy, for less than $20 shipped!!! Gorgeous soft leather. She needs a stitch repair on one of the straps which looks like a clean easy fix.

I have that Hippie Flap in red. I hadn't posted a great photo of her but Its listed previously in this thread here
http://forum.purseblog.com/coach/show-us-your-coach-secondhand-bargains-745615-9.html#post21791348 . I am fixing it up for my sis-in-law. It's a neat bag. Lightweight and thin in diameter so it doesn't take up too much space for those who don't like bulky bags. Great finds!!

Decent photography is so huge on ebay...this one's photos weren't eye-catching. And she had it named as just a "Lex" tote. LOL. One other bidder had a bid on it early in the auction, and I just put a slightly higher bid in, thinking it would be out bid at the very end but it wasn't. Its funny, the reason the strap needs repair, is because the gal who originally had gotten it thought it was fake (strange Italian creed patch shape) so was going to 'destroy' it. I think she actually started pulling the stitching out to re-use the leather for something else, then had it authenticated and realized ...."ooops". So she sold it with the low start price knowing it needed re-stitching. Thankfully it's a "clean" stitch removal (not hacked at with scissors) and should fix back up easily.
