Is yours the Crescent bag? I always associate the seam down the middle as being the Crescent and the dimensions are: (straight from Coach)

The hippie (9988) is measuring about 10" wide at the widest bottom point, and 9.25ish High through the center point, and 3" deep. So it must be smaller than the Crescent. I have been stalking the bay for a Crescent bag but so far none I can afford. I'd love to have another side by side to compare to. Thus...my little green reverse suede is even TINIER, at only 9.25 X 8.25 X 3" with a much shorter strap drop of about 17" so it's not even a crossbody bag. Strangely small.

So the crescent is a smidge smaller than the saddle? You made me put down my Sunday night beer and get the measuring tape and my crescent out. I can make the coach measurements work, if I measure at the widest points.

I guess the thing to remember about this bag is that you can't fit a lot in it because it's soo curvy. IMO the strap is too short to wear cross body-maybe the saddle is better?

Also now that I dug her out, I remember how much I <3 her. So cute, kinda impractical but worth it. :D

I found a modeling pic of the stewardess bag but the strap looks very long in this picture. I agree that they have modified the strap length at times, mine isn't quite this long.

That seems plenty long...I might hit up a Coach store this week and try on their "classics" for size and shape then come back and hit ebay for the real deal LOL! I just cannot part with that much money for how crappy they feel.

I'm off to ebay just to look and see what I can find right now. I don't mind something that looks a little rough. All my Coach bags have been from ebay and I feel good about buying off there if the price is right for what condition the bag is in.

I'm probably leaning towards something crossbody since I'm in the city and commuting a lot. I find crossbody is more comfortable when I'm walking long distances.

I'm currently using a Steven Madden floral crossbody bag and it's a tad on the small side for what I carry, but it was the largest of the bags I owned that I could wear crossbody. Plus I think it was the cheapest new bag I have ever purchased. Yay for sale rack at Winners since I scored it for 19.99!! According to websites it's listed as 8.25" high x 9" wide x 2.5" deep. It's way too small. I can't store half the things I need in it or else it looks like it's bursting at the seams. I'm making do for now though. When I do get it full then I can't find important things like my keys!

Some of the older awesome leather bags are unfortunately kind of heavy. If you like any of Coaches older usa made lightweight line, I really love my Whitney bags ( I have 3 LOL). (Great pockets!!! easy on the shoulders, still made pretty tough!! and holds a ton-crossbody) and affordably priced on ebay since it's not one of the trendy re-issue classic style bags. Here's my dark green and blue/gray colored ones. I also have black. A close up of the green also to see details:

For some reason I think this is one of the "new" Stewardess bags. Was it you that I had the convo about different lengths in the straps? It came from somewhere. I think mine is 2001ish. I'm 5'3 and I could wear it crossbody, but it is not quite comfortable. This could because I'm way too busty (think porn star, but real) but there is no way that mine is as long as the strap in the picture.

My blue Saddle measure SMALLER than what's written for Coach's photo of the Crescent. ... So whatever that means LOL???. I love them all so much tho'!! I wish I could carry a smaller wallet but I need my larger zip around.

ughh see I'm falling back into my love for smaller bags again...Must.not.bid...Need larger more roomy bag.

If you wish for a small "tardis" bag LOL...(borrowed that from Jen) I manage to make my old Classic Willis suffice for most of my outings and I generally carry a larger wallet, a wristlet for make up, and coin purse , phone, and large wad of keys too. It's tall enough that if I stick the wallet in straight up and down, it holds everything great and isn't heavy or doesn't feel like I am carrying luggage around.

I like them...I might have to check them out. I was thinking of maybe having my station bag brought to me in a month to see if all my things would fit in it, but I think it's a bit on the flat side for what I carry. I'm not sure if those bags would be the same?

I found a thrift store about a 10min walk from where I work...If I can run away for half an hour I may try and go to see if they have anything good...It's in a really crappy part of the city so I will have to let my boss know where I am going though...LOL!

The Whitneys hold WAY MORE in them than a Station bag. And so does the Wiillis by a good bit. I own 2 Station bags, and honestly rarely carry them because it's a bit too small, and lacks that oh so necessary slip pocket on the outside- back of bag.
P.S. the BEST THRIFT STORE EVER that I frequent regularly, is in a crappy area. But this particular chain of stores gets their merchandise from charities in other parts of the state so I am not relying on the "locals" left overs and I've found the best stuff there. Good luck.

I remember the conversation about strap lengths on the stewardess and you may be right, that could be a "new stewardess" bag.

I just took a couple of pics below of the 3 bags I mentioned (L to R: Mahogany Patricia's Legacy 9951, White Legacy Zip 9966, and Black Stewardess 9525.)

I proped a ruler up next to the Legacy Zip in the second picture to give some perspective. The straps on all 3 bags are set at the second hole from the bottom.

They are all pretty similar in size. The Stewardess seems to be a bit more roomy but the Patricia's Legacy has the longest strap.

thanks for doing that-saved me from dragging out Miss Pat and my Stewardess. I just seem to recall that Pat fits me cross body and Stewardess just barely does, but not so comfortable.

However, I may now be in the market for a Legacy Zip. I've been ignoring those as I have seen more than a few fakes out there. :shucks:

I'm short and I can wear both the stewardess and the legacy zip crossbody, especially when I set the straps on the last hole, but the PL is definitely the most comfortable when worn cross-body.

I'm tall and skinny with a long torso...Not sure the strap length will work. It looks so short in the pic!

It's a salvation army thrift store. Not sure where they get stuff from, but it's so close how can I not check it out? I'll just be safe and tell people where I am going so if I don't return in half an hour to send a search party LOL! I don't think it would be too bad of an area in the day time...I probably wouldn't want to check it out at night though...
