I just got this Coach Kristin Croc Tote off ebay for $210 with Free Shipping!

I bought this bag last year for $400, had buyers remorse for spending so much money. Sold it without ever wearing it or even cutting the tags off. I've missed it ever since.

Mine again for $210, and I didn't need to get an ulcer over cutting the tags, because it was already done by previous owner!

Mint Condition, BTW.

This is exactly how I feel. I would rather buy a bag on ebay that has already had the tags removed so I don't have to make that decision. Plus you got a great deal. I think I enjoy the bags I got a great deal on more than those I bought directly from Coach with PCE.

Okay ladies I need shopping advice :p

I just moved to the city and left all my vintage Coach at home because they were all too tiny for my every day needs in the city. I still love my tiny bags but they just aren't as functional in the city unless they are a going out at night type bag.

I'm trying to find something vintage but larger so I can carry: a wallet, cheque book, mini skinny, coin purse or another mini skinny (transit tokens and passes), makeup bag, reusable shopping bags (damn bag fee), sunglasses case, and a large set of keys with a fob attached (I live in a secure building and the fob is the size of those car lock alarm fobs). Basically I need something large to carry my life in since I don't drive in the city and can't store half of my things in a car anymore.

I was thinking a saddle bag of some sort but not sure how large they are?

I won't be able to get one for awhile since I just drained my paypal balance on a Pandora charm, but maybe in a month or two when I have more survey money in my account or start making money again and getting ahead of bills.
I want to start stalking ebay now though to get an idea of what I want and maybe watch some listings and if one goes for a good enough price I would snatch it up. I just don't know if they made vintage bags large enough for my needs LOL! I do NOT want something new though. I've already been to the store and hate the feel of every single new bag they make...I've been spoiled the last few years with my amazing vintage finds so I need to stick with vintage.

The stewardess 9525 and the legacy zip 9966 are both about the same size and they are my largest vintage bags. Do you want crossbody? The legacy zip has a slightly longer strap and an outside pocket.

They are not huge like some more modern bags but I think that they should carry the items you mentioned. You can probably find some modeling pics if you do a search here on tpf. There are pics of both bags at the links below.

I too was going to say Stewardess. Maybe post a photo of all the stuff you want to fit in it to help with the "visual". Maybe take a photo of everything sitting inside of the bag you are currently trying to carry so we can just get a feel for what your space needs are. Also, do you prefer crossbody straps, backpack style even? or double shoulder strap or single strap? Most of the bags we have mentioned here are popular and so it'll take some stalking and some watchfulness to get a good price, and may require some refurbishing/rehab because bags that "seem" to not be as pretty online sell for less, but often we are able to bring them back to a beautiful new life.

I'm off to ebay just to look and see what I can find right now. I don't mind something that looks a little rough. All my Coach bags have been from ebay and I feel good about buying off there if the price is right for what condition the bag is in.

I'm probably leaning towards something crossbody since I'm in the city and commuting a lot. I find crossbody is more comfortable when I'm walking long distances.

I'm currently using a Steven Madden floral crossbody bag and it's a tad on the small side for what I carry, but it was the largest of the bags I owned that I could wear crossbody. Plus I think it was the cheapest new bag I have ever purchased. Yay for sale rack at Winners since I scored it for 19.99!! According to websites it's listed as 8.25" high x 9" wide x 2.5" deep. It's way too small. I can't store half the things I need in it or else it looks like it's bursting at the seams. I'm making do for now though. When I do get it full then I can't find important things like my keys!

So here's a size comparison to a saddle bag. I don't know of any other bags of this era being made in this style, this small. I keep hoping Hyacinth will have some info but so far, kind of a mystery.

condition wise, they both were almost perfect. A couple of really minor spots that I will gently use some nubuck cleaner/eraser on and see if I can clear it but would be content to just carry as is.
Thanks for the compliments. I'm kind of in love. Can't wait to carry them both. As much as I love suede, I tend to wear it more in the fall and winter even tho' I am sure there's no real set rule on that.

What size is the saddle bag?? I really like the look of it but pictures are so hard to tell if something will be large enough or not. I think it might be though since I'm probably the size of the mannequin LOL!

The Stewardess is a pretty big bag. I think it holds nearly as much as Sophia. I can fit a full size stuffed accordion wallet, sunglass case, keys, coin purse, card case, pill box, and phone with room left over. I think it would be big enough for you. It is pictured open in next to my Parker shoulder bag, which I think is comparable in size.

I also might try and track down and hit up some thrift stores around me if I can...I may not find a Coach but maybe something else vintage will stand out to me and be large enough to hold everything. I just have a hard time finding thrift stores in my area since they don't seem to have them in the "good" areas of the city...The majority are in the more run down parts. I guess they figure us hippies will shop at over priced consignment and vintage stores instead of thrift stores so they place the thrift stores where the more poor population of the city reside...ugh! Means I have to trek to bad areas if I want to go thrifting!!

OK so I forget the different names for these styles, but my "yellow" bag is like this, but has a seam down the middle. It's NYC with a serial number, so I think it falls in age between those two. It seems really small to me.

What is the measurement on those two, say, up and down right down the middle? I've seen so many different ways of measuring those, I think some of them are taken from where the strap attaches and makes them sound bigger.

Is yours the Crescent bag? I always associate the seam down the middle as being the Crescent and the dimensions are: (straight from Coach)

The hippie (9988) is measuring about 10" wide at the widest bottom point, and 9.25ish High through the center point, and 3" deep. So it must be smaller than the Crescent. I have been stalking the bay for a Crescent bag but so far none I can afford. I'd love to have another side by side to compare to. Thus...my little green reverse suede is even TINIER, at only 9.25 X 8.25 X 3" with a much shorter strap drop of about 17" so it's not even a crossbody bag. Strangely small.

Ohhh I like it! I like that it actually has pockets and things which most of my bags lack, or they just don't have large enough functional pockets.

It should be mentioned that stewardess may not have a long enough strap to wear cross body and that it seems like the length might have varied through the years. Def check strap lengths if you go that route. Patricia might be long enough and is only slightly smaller.

The blue saddle bag is a little smaller than the crescent. See the post above to ledobe where I explain the size differences since I didn't multi quote the both of you properly to answer each at the same time.
