Well, I bought 2 Coach bags for $5 today! I stopped at 3 garage sales. I struck out on bags at the first 2 so I almost didn't stop at the last one. As I walked up the seller said "If you see something you like, talk to me, we can make a deal!" And she was right!

I am waiting for authentication but I am pretty sure that they are genuine. The first bag is a Janince's Legacy, this is my first JL bag. It is very beat up but since it is black and intact I think it will rehab well.

I had never seen the second bag before (and I still don't know what it is) but it looked like a small, round, slate gray flap bag in very good shape except for missing the hangtag. But when I opened it up I got a big surprise - under the flap and inside it is a gorgeous periwinkle blue! I hope that the outside is just dirty and a bit faded and the color will come back with rehabbing, because I love that blue!

The Janice's Legacy was marked $8 and the gray/blue bag was unmarked. I carried them over to the seller and asked "How much for both bags?" When she answered "$5" I said "Okay".

The authentication pics are at the links below, any idea of the style name for the little blue one?

Very nice. The blue one looks like a Casey #9923. I hope you can get the color restored.

Hyacinth confirmed that it is a Casey and said that it is probably from 1993.

So here's a size comparison to a saddle bag. I don't know of any other bags of this era being made in this style, this small. I keep hoping Hyacinth will have some info but so far, kind of a mystery.

condition wise, they both were almost perfect. A couple of really minor spots that I will gently use some nubuck cleaner/eraser on and see if I can clear it but would be content to just carry as is.
Thanks for the compliments. I'm kind of in love. Can't wait to carry them both. As much as I love suede, I tend to wear it more in the fall and winter even tho' I am sure there's no real set rule on that.

Just beautiful! Is the cresent bag lined or unlined? I have always thought of suede as a fall and winter material, but my ladybug tote is trimmed with pink suede and she is definitely a summer bag!

I own 3 Janice Legacies, one of which I am giving to a girlfriend. They are a great little bag!! you got some GREAT BARGAINS. I love the Casey too. It'll be so beautiful if that blue color comes back!!! Next to Green, I'm a sucker for blue and red!! Can't wait to see how they turn out.

I know! I figured for $2.50 each, how could I lose? I really hope the color of the Casey comes back because it is a very pretty blue and unlike any bag that I have.

Saw your new goodies on the AT thread...I have 2 Janice's (one red, one black) and a British tan Casey! Love them all...and, as usual, you got GREAT prices.

I got lucky yesterday at Goodwill, finding a fairly tired, black Swagger #9820 from the late 80's for $4.99! http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-763164-8.html#post22428420 I don't recall ever seeing one before...and today there were 2 more for authentication...go figure!

She's gonna need some fixing up, piping-wise, but in pretty good overall condition for a lady her age :) She is drying after a bath...you'll see her on the Rehab thread in a few days.

congrats! i use to love to stop at garage sales. But I don't have time to do that any more since I have two baby:crybaby:

I just got this Coach Kristin Croc Tote off ebay for $210 with Free Shipping!

I bought this bag last year for $400, had buyers remorse for spending so much money. Sold it without ever wearing it or even cutting the tags off. I've missed it ever since.

Mine again for $210, and I didn't need to get an ulcer over cutting the tags, because it was already done by previous owner!

Mint Condition, BTW.

They are unlined. I love the reverse bags. It is lined with the smooth leather you'd see on the outsides of regular bags. It's a regular bag that is truly done in reverse. Since these are rarer I don't want to dunk them and lose any of that green and they are pretty clean over all, but I love that I can just take Lexol and wipe the interiors out since its smooth leather.

I really must demand that you dunk that Casey ASAP! The suspense is killing me! Will the color come back? :p

I got a couple of glams for pretty good prices - $71 and $67. They look new.

I have the denim glam and I love it. I have to keep talking myself out of getting another when they show up on the online sale. There was a badly listed spectator on eBay a month or so ago, tan leather with white handles-I mean, really badly listed, and I forget what it started at but it was low. Unfortunately towards the end a couple of people discovered it and there was a bidding war that took it to close to what it was selling for online so I deleted it from my watch list. Not sure what it finally sold for.

Now that I found that "lightweights" tote, I probably really need to stay away from getting another glam...remind me I said that later when I find a bargain, k?

OK so I forget the different names for these styles, but my "yellow" bag is like this, but has a seam down the middle. It's NYC with a serial number, so I think it falls in age between those two. It seems really small to me.

What is the measurement on those two, say, up and down right down the middle? I've seen so many different ways of measuring those, I think some of them are taken from where the strap attaches and makes them sound bigger.

I bought the red one first for my daughter and she said it was too bright for her, which is why I got the black one. So I have been using the red one. My daughters have used glams for years as school bags but I never carried one myself until now. I think it is going to replace my favorite travel bag, which makes me sad because I don't know when I am going to carry that bag again.

We were looking at the silver leather one on the online sale but it was $140 the first time it was listed. By the next online sale when it was just a bit over $100, I had already bought the black one. My daughter has more resistance than I do. She said she doesn't need any more. She uses them until they wear out.
