I don't like to rely on Ebay for deals since I've been lucky locally, but occasionally a nice bag gets bypassed because of badly done auctions.


Anyone who'se seen my green Whitney rehab knows how much I really LIKE the Whitney's great pockets/design and lightweight leather

So, here's an unusual blue/gray (clay?) colored WHITNEY (pre-bath anyway, so that color could change a bit) as well as a NICE BLACK EQUESTRIAN SLIM BUCKET in great condition!! Both were sold together in a lot as a Buy it Now for $25!!

The next day on ebay, I spotted a Taft bag going for cheap!! ended up being $19.89. Those who love the big heavy thick squishy vintage leathers found on the Stewardess, Rambler, etc. will LOVE a Taft bag, with it's nice top zip, and front turnlock pocket so handy for holding your keys, etc. It's a rather LARGE bag!. I already have a brown one, but I tend to carry black more often.​

My thrift outings will be greatly reduced now that my son is out of school and doesn't enjoy being stuck with me that long in a thrift shop!!​

Wow! I have been looking for a Taft for a long time and they always get bid up too high! You lucky girl!

I think this one was just so vague in it's photographry and didn't have the style name listed so it was just a matter of looking at it and going...hmmm..I think that's a Taft...size is hard to determine sometimes on the photos listed.

Great haul! I especially love that Taft, I think I may have even been looking at that auction too, and I meant to research it and never got back to it. I've never seen that style IRL, so I have to make sure I am seeing what I think I'm seeing-I'm glad you got it though-yay for badly listed items, though I'm afraid Hyacinth is going to scold me one of these days...You have a great haul there!

I recently took the plunge on a badly listed item and I hope it turns out like I'm hoping it will. It's just one state away so I was actually hoping I'd get it tomorrow but since the seller hasn't shipped it yet it may be longer-boo for new sellers.

I will take a chance on a bag that I am familiar with. I haven't heard of Taft being faked as of yet ( tho' I imagine it couldve happened). You're right Hyacinth would cringe :) But often I find these deals too late to really ask for additional photos. The Taft is only familiar because I had another brown one I got to see IRL at a thrift shop and bought. In photos it just doesn't show off how nicely sized it is. I'll do some rehab photos eventually and sit it next to my other larger sized bags to give a size reference.

Ok here are my special finds today....

First up is an 06' Willis (Made in China) in a tan color. $23.99 This one was in great condition except that it is as flat as a pancake. I already bathed it and noticed the leather is thinner on the more modern willis so I hope when it dries it keeps is shape.

The biggest thing wrong with it is there are 2 dots on the bottom and I have no idea what it is. I don't know if its a burn, or ink, or mold.......It didn't come off in the bath but it won't bother me anyway so it should be fine.

Next up is a spectator Court Bag from 1993. It is pretty beat up but it definitely has a lot of hope!!

I was so excited when I saw the purple tag which was 50% off so it was only $14.99!! yay!!

Nice find! I've dunked newer leathers and though they're lighterweight to start with, they respond just as well as the old NYC leather.. Bet if you stuff it while it drys it will come out beautiful.

Thank you!! I did stuff it pretty well with paper towels and a hand towel. I shaped it exactly how I wanted it to come out after drying so wish me luck and I will definitely share after pictures;)
