Back in 2009, when the Hermès website had a section called Les Ailes d'Hermès, I saw the most beautiful bag ever.

I was (and still am) obsessed with this Plume size that even until now, I have an album on my phone dedicated to it:

I couldn't buy it that time because I just bought a HAC 40. Later on I decided to go the preloved route, but in the 10 or so years in searching the secondary market, I only found this, which was almost priced like brand new and was located outside the EU (VAT and customs charges will cripple me):

And this one which costs like a car:

I kind of forgot about it until Hermès came up with the Volynka leather and they made a bag in the exact Plume size I want. I was so obsessed that I spammed the Volynka thread with my "research".

I kind of forgot about it again because life happened, until I went back to Paris last month and saw the Volynka Birkin and mini Kelly displayed at the FSH window.

I thought, "Ah yeah, I used to be so much into this!"

Having sold the HAC some years ago and me turning 40 two months ago, I thought it was time to get a new bag from the store. And i'm glad I did because the SA said it was the last one in Europe.

I would have to probably wait a VERY long time for this to appear in the preloved market.

So that's the story of how I went through a cycle of obsessing, forgetting, and remembering to get my first Plume
Beautiful story! I’m so glad it had a very happy ending

allanrvj,
I had never given a thought to the name of this style before reading your observation.
With your back-story that gorgeous rare bag has found its rightful home with you.
Congratulations on your determination and well-deserved purchase.

Hello TPF members,
I am planning to get a plume 32 bag in swift leather.
I have read a few threads on durability of swift leather. However would really appreciate if Plume bags owners can share their experience with the swift leather as well. Its a different style bag so your experience might be different.
TIA

Anyone?
How is the wear on corners? How does the Structure and shape holds up?
Thank you!

I do have a plume noir 32 in swift. I had it since 2017 but disclaimer, I have not used it in more than a year now (covid, it's in another home).
I used it a lot when I was physically going to work because it looks so professional, sleek and elegant plus it fits a lot.
The structure holds because of how it is constructed. The corners/edges are keeping its shape so even if the leather is softer than most, it stays upright.
I love Swift, it is a very lovely leather. I have a few bags/SLGs in swift and it is really very durable. Light scratches even melt into it when you buff it a little bit with your fingers. I also had water incidents but nothing that a little paper towel dabbing cannot fixed.
As for the corners, I tend to be careful with bumping and scratching so mine has no corner wear (yet).

Thank you for your post. I kept it. Although a little too big for my need but it looks so classy, couldn’t pass it!!
