Oh, I'd say, everything being equal, come over to the U.S. You can do a lot of other non-H shopping, and visit our large department stores, which may be running sales/promotions.

I know I would enjoy browsing your large departement stores. We can actually buy online now from Saks, NM etc but not all goods can be shipped. RL just opened an online store in Sweden and I made some lovely bargains last week but there are clothes I have to try on like dresses. I love you Real Housewives series and follow all of them. One of the reasons I want to go to Anaheim is that I plan on going to Lisa Vanderpumps restaurant in BH.

I'm in Sweden and London is close. Actually at the moment UK is more expensive than US but US dollar have changed the past weeks and if it keeps going up it might be just as expensive as UK. We have our own currency (not Euro) and H com will be cheaper than both UK and US but I long to browse in a large store. It is not as fun to buy online as in a store and the store in Sweden is small.

If it's a work-related trip, it's a chance to do a little sightseeing on your employer's dime. If I lived in Sweden, I'd pick US because it's more expensive to go on my own. However, it's totally up to you.

Will your employer pay for a rental car? Even if they don't, I highly suggest you get one if you want to do any kind of sightseeing or shopping. It's too hard to get around both OC and LA without one, particularly for someone who doesn't live in either place. And rent the GPS, too. You can use your smartphone for directions, too, but it's illegal in California to use your cell phone while driving. If you drive, you can go pretty much anywhere if you have the time. South Coast Plaza has many different shops, including Hermes. However, they have little stock and are very crowded on weekends.

The Beverly Hills H store has much bigger stock, but traffic is horrible on weekdays, particularly during rush hour (6-10 am or 3-7 pm). If you can, stay in a hotel nearby. The Beverly Wilshire or Luxe are good options. There are lots on and around Rodeo Drive, just look for signs. If you park in the public lots, the parking is free for the first 2 hours. On Wilshire Blvd, you can get to 3 department stores: Saks, Neiman Marcus, and Barneys New York. If you dine or shop at Barneys New York (and I suggest you do), you can park in their underground lot free for 3 hours. The view from their rooftop restaurant is really nice, and they have a good mix of relatively inexpensive and higher-end foods. The weather is really nice and sunny in LA, so you can dine either inside or outside (outside tables are harder to get, obviously).

Whichever location you choose, you're bound to enjoy good shopping. Safe travels.

Oh, Villa Blanca is a good option for dining, too. They have pretty good food and are in a great location, close to H and all the designer shops. Kyle's shop is close by, too.

Just a few miles east is Lisa's other restaurant, Sur. Sur has better food and cocktails, IMO. It's also close to Christian Louboutin. If you drive about a mile east of there, you can shop at Melrose Place. They have Isabel Marant, DvF, and Marc Jacobs there.

Yes that what I was thinking too. LA is more expensive than London for me. I was in LA in 2009 with my DH and we did all tourist things. Driving in LA is not an option for me, I am too scared of driving in heavy traffick. I am probably staying at Luxe or Sirtaj so all shopping is within walking distance.

The reason I have been hesitating is DH and I will go to the Seychelles with a stopover in Dubai 3 months after the US conference and I know I want to do some shopping there as well. I know spending time on Rodeo Drive will tempt me to buy things but I know I'll have to control myself if I want to buy things in Dubai too.

Oh you can do both. If you don't buy anything for 3 months, it's plenty of time to rebuild your splurge fund :)

I imagine Dubai will be more expensive than the US, so maybe if/after you shop in the US, you'll cut back on your spending in Dubai anyway.

Hope you enjoy your trip! Almost all of the SA's there are very nice and helpful, but if you'd like I can also PM you a couple of names (I know it usually makes me feel a little better to go in armed with a name [emoji4])

They just got in more stock so there should be plenty for you to see.

Thank you Daisu. If you have time to pm me I would be grateful. I am most interested in scarves and maybe a bracelet this time but will browse the store just to see what items Hermes sells. Our store is really small so it is difficult to get a sence of what types of items H sells.

Hi Nahreen, just wanted to let you know that I tried sending you a message but it said your box was full. I'll try again later! :)

just visited the BH store today, and it was very busy. therefore, we did not receive any greeting or assistance in the leather, scarf, or bracelet sections. the customers were also pretty rude IMO- women cutting right in front of you without saying excuse me or just waiting for someone to pass. upstairs in shoes was a bit better, and although SA's were busy, they'd at least say hello. home section was much friendlier despite only 1 SA being in charge of the floor, so she had to assist us in short durations and then make her rounds.

there were 2 japanese girls being shown exotic bags. 2 birkins (1 matte and 1 shiny) and 1 shiny kelly. 1 was buying, and her friend was translating. not sure what she ended up choosing and whether the SA brought any other bags out for her to look at. but the bags were drool worthy! the SA was very vocal about how january is harder to score bags because they need to save them for VIP customers. not sure if either girl was a regular or VIP or just a high spending tourist.

Hi all, I'm not sure if there's a thread that's about this, but I'm wondering what the stock in LA area is. I just came back from Paris and wanted to get a Evelyne but it was sold out everywhere! Any info would be appreciated!

I think you can just call the local stores and see what their stock is for Evelyn bags. I haven't particularly been paying attention but I have seen them in stores. Good luck!
