I really like Roy at BH. He will tell you the honest truth if a bag suits you, and he has talked me out of a mistake even when I wanted to hand over the cc. And miraculously a few weeks later the ideal combo shows up! I find that BH will eventually get any item you are looking for, as the stock and turnover is so good. I just keep popping in!

BH was remodeled last year, and their new store is huge. Inventory is good, and the SAs are the nicest of any H store I've been to.

San Diego SAs are nice, but the store and inventory are small.

The SAs at SCP are the least friendly, but that might be because they have to deal with a lot of ignorant people window shopping while strolling around the SCP mall. I've been told upfront that you have to spend several thousand dollars before being offered a bag.

I love BH but I have only had good experiences with Rafael at SCP as well. Never tried SD.

I've never had a problem getting anything "coveted" from either store (CDC, etc.) and I've gotten both B and K from BH, but I am a local to them and it is a primary store to me (of four I shop at regularly). :smile1:

I am going on a business trip to Anaheim in October. I need to plan my trip now. I like shopping and plan on doing some on my trip. I wondered if it is worth staying two extra nights in BH or if SCP is just as nice and have good inventory? I'm not interested in bags, just scarves, perfumes, soaps and such. Maby also bracelets. Apart from H I also want to shop Ralph Lauren. I also want to browse Dior. I don't want to spend money on hotel in BH unless the shopping there is better.

I would say you would have a better chance of finding the best inventory in BH since it is the west coast flagship store. SCP can sometimes have a great selection but other times is pretty empty.

Thanks for your advice. Would you think it is enough to spend one night to do shopping in BH? I only want to visit a few stores.

As with most things Hermes, one can never predict what you will find. I live in the area but never mind spending a day shopping in BH...even just for people watching. Good luck whatever you decide!

Thanks webaj. I love visiting H and our store here is really small and there is only one in our country. So the one in BH would probably feel larger and have more inventory. I also want to visit Dior which we don't have here and Ralph Lauren. I see so many things on the US version of H com that are not displayed at the European one.

I would say you should definitely visit both BH and SCP. SCP is close to Anaheim, you can drop by any day. It has good inventory of scarves/perfumes, etc. Bracelets as well but depends on what you are looking for. Ralph Lauren store is next by and Dior is opposite to H. And plenty of other stores. It's easier to find parking and better traffic than BH.
BH store is worth visiting since it's new and bigger. But I hardly had good chance to score anything I like there. It's one hr drive from Anaheim if traffic is good. It's a day trip.
SD is not far away as well. 2hrs from Anaheim. But if time is tight, not worth going since it's small.

One day in BH should be plenty. Pick a great hotel nearby (like the Peninsula) and a great spot for lunch and shop before and after. BH has much more inventory than SCP, for instance there is a whole floor of home. For scarves ask for what you want as they don't display more than a fraction of what is there. Also BH isn't cagey about what's in back except for bags, so if you are looking for a particular scarf design, etc., if they have it they will find it for you.
BH Hermes has parking in back - there is also tons of public parking in Beverly Hills - so I don't agree that parking is more difficult than SCP.
I like the SCP H boutique and that mall is kind of fun (it is nearly all high-end shopping) but it's a small store. It's so close to Anaheim, though, you should stop in. I would not bother with SD.

Both stores suffer from "tourist-itis" - they give preference to locals who will be repeat customers - but for silks and soaps that doesn't matter. Have a great trip!

Thank you for your advice. It is fun to browse in a larger store with lots of items. I look forward to seeing the home departement. Our store is really small so many items I have only seen on photo. I also look forward to browsing their silks.

Nahreen - I would highly recommend staying at the Peninsula (aka "my home away from home"). An extra goodie is that you will have amazing H wildlife sightings while staying there!!
