Just checked on the website (see attached file from Hermès.com in Germany) and you are correct, the Mini is only 3cm smaller than the new Medium. In my personal opinion, the 31 is amazing, as it does not look big and fits a lot. But I love bigger sized bags. However, a friend of mine is Mini-addicted and finds the new Medium just too large... So to each their own:biggrin:

Thanks for the screenshot!

I find the Evie TPM fits all I need (and often I just leave the house with a Calvi in one pocket and phone in the other) so while I adore some of the larger bags they're just overkill for what I need. Thanks to you, I might now consider the Halzan Mini along with the Saut as my possible next additions :)

OMG that is gorgeous. I do love my 31 but find it a bit large in certain situations. I had a mini but not being able to fit my phone into the outside pockets was an issue. I'll put an exotic Halzan on my wish list!

Mini Halzan is sooo cute and will definitely be enough for wallet + phone and have plenty of space for “incidentals” which for me is usually a soft small scarf or a snack.

I had to turn it down twice because the color wasn’t right, but I know my mini halzan will come

Tbh while I do like quite a few of the Hermes designs, this one leaves me a bit cold, while not bad, I would not spring for the price tag when it is something that looks any halfway decent artisan could do, I am not a fan of flashy labels, but paying premium, you expect something a bit more, I don't get that from those bags, they look very plain and like something we have seen over and over again. I'd pass
Honestly, I felt the same about the Halzan, until I held it for the first time. It has probably something to do with the handling, the buckle, the sound of it, that makes it so attractive that I honestly fell in love with it. Before, I was like „yikes“, but it is truly one of my favorite H-bags nowadays. Check it out, if you see one in the boutique. Might still be not your cup of tea, but probably you might gerundet its spell like so many before you...

big fan of H's understated bags - and I only get those. I had more or less purchased Kelly and Birkin at some point but cancelled both, because too obviously H.
My fave is the Bolide (I have 3 and would get a 27 as well), but also have Halzan, Gao, a vintage Trim and just bought a newly released large Garden File. My most 'obvious' H bag is probably the Evie tpm. I think the main reason I love H is the under the radar quality :).

Ahh maybe I just have to hold one :) Do you ever hand-carry from the top handles? I haven't found photos of that but it looks like it'd be funny shaped carrying with top handles? What about getting in/out when the top is folded over - hassle or easy?

Non sequitur: Does anyone know what the very longest the strap on the mini Halzan can go? I like my crossbody bag straps pretty long.

Loving my Saut bag. It came out recently and was available in some wonderful color combinations. Altough it is Clemence ( also came in Barenia Fauborg) its light as a feather for me. It’s been a while since I posted on this thread, but as you can see, I still adore my understated h bags!

@lanit An yes, love these photos! Thanks for sharing :) because of you I adore the Saut and may get one eventually, but I want to try it on and haven't been to the shop since pre-Covid...

I've always enjoyed the look of the Bolide - what do you love about it?

I actually vary, how I wear mine all the time. When in a hurry, I just grab the handles and wear the Halzan like a tote (easy and quick) to gently throw everything I need into the bag. During shopping or with the kids, I like to wear crossbody to have my hands free. Depending on where I am I buckle the handles (less hazzle than with a Kelly) or not (mostly not, so it is easy in and out and varying the way to wear it). When I am alone and in the mood I wear the Halzan (even in 31) as a clutch, a little bit like the Bottega Pouch.
There are many videos on YouTube, my favorite being the one from Hermès about the ways to wear it, and as I mentioned the sound of opening and closing the buckle is sometimes reason enough for me to grab the Halzan instead of a different bag.:giggle:

I love the two handles (versus Kelly top handle), the strap (versus B no strap), but mostly the super-understated, very high quality bag. there is something about H handles (on any of their bags) in your hand, that is so refined and yet sturdy. I like to wear it with the 'back' side front (plaque towards me) - no one at work will ever know what I carry (to be fair, no one cares, this is for my random personal pleasure). Really important for me is the right leather, hardware, colour combo. I don't like clemence for structured bags, because they collapse. Mine are in fjord and chevre (mini).

Oh I get it with the buckle sound :) Thanks for the ideas on how to wear it - I think you have me swayed with the "shopping with the kids" comment vs "tossing everything in" for a tote style! I couldn't find the H video but I found some others on YouTube.

Thank you! I've always enjoyed the "openness" of it (it's such a functional shape for me, if a bit too large, but the mini is teensy!) - I usually wear my bags logo-in too... personal pleasure is the whole point here for me ;) Thanks for the tip about leathers, makes sense and I would've assumed they only made it in structured leathers but thanks to you I found some photos in Clemence and I too prefer it in more rigid leathers.
