Do train wrecks ever seem to come up at low prices anymore? I think it would be a fun project but don't want to pay $$$ for something that requires lots of work on my end.

Gorgeous! Ebene looks lighter than I thought with that purply undertone here.I would buy it in a heartbeat, if my slouchy baby wasn't the same colour!!!
This is mine:

This bag will probably end up going quite a bit higher...
Train Wreck or Stylish Vintage
I know the original posts were four months ago , but I just want to weigh in with my very polarised view of Amazonia after reading the comments .
The bag posted is indeed beyond redemption, but please don't write off the Amazonia Garden Party ! I adore mine and use it more than my other Hermès bags including my BBK
I happen to like the character , of which there is loads, and have lots of positive remarks from folk whose opinion I value . Mine is weathered , but has a fascinating patina IMO. The shelf life is obviously limited but that suits me , I'll grab another
At the sides it has started to crack and admittedly the tiny white areas of canvas peeking through are not adding to its charms. I'll try some brown polish or dye on them .
Meanwhile I plan to find a replacement for when mine is too far gone ,it;s just the best bag I've ever had and feels part of me!
Obviously I'm not the matchy girly type ,my H bags are all vintage except for an Evelyne and that's from preference .
But if you like a bag with oodles of attitude, grab an Amazonia!

I thought yours was Havanne! I think theirs is as well. I had a Havanne Kelly for a hot minute and regret letting it go...I thought the same thing, mine is Havanne not Ebene....I had an Ebene Birkin, which I stupidly, sold and it was much darker than this colour: maybe they got the name wrong.....
I've seen Kellys that can be saved at around $2K. The problem though is often that the handle is shot or something is cracked. Then you end up paying for a new handle/restitching/etc. and all of a sudden you might as well buy a vintage in better condition. If you don't mind dents and dings you can find a gorgeous older bag that is structurally sound, which is the important partDo train wrecks ever seem to come up at low prices anymore? Now HERE is a "hot mess" Birkin. The sad bedraggled relative of the other one...

Looks like the family dog used it as a chew toy.
What I don't understand is why she didn't crop that photo with the dirty crocs and leaves, so gross. Seeing that, I wouldn't want the bag, even if it was spa'ed, because I would feel that it was handled dirtly. Ie- I never put bags on public floors, but with this, I would be afraid that this one was placed a restroom floor![]()
