It's so painful to look at!! I couldn't post a picture in the thread.

Etsy sellers are almost all delusional about H pricing. They see "Hermès" and they assume it's worth 4 or 5 digits. I love Etsy otherwise though...some amazing finds there, especially jewelry designers, but there's a forum thread for that! xo

I agree, etsy has great finds, love that I'm supporting small businesses and individual sellers when I buy from them :)
But, yes, this Kelly, I am speechless!

Train Wreck or Stylish Vintage

I know the original posts were four months ago , but I just want to weigh in with my very polarised view of Amazonia after reading the comments .
The bag posted is indeed beyond redemption, but please don't write off the Amazonia Garden Party ! I adore mine and use it more than my other Hermès bags including my BBK
I happen to like the character , of which there is loads, and have lots of positive remarks from folk whose opinion I value . Mine is weathered , but has a fascinating patina IMO. The shelf life is obviously limited but that suits me , I'll grab another ;)
At the sides it has started to crack and admittedly the tiny white areas of canvas peeking through are not adding to its charms. I'll try some brown polish or dye on them .
Meanwhile I plan to find a replacement for when mine is too far gone ,it;s just the best bag I've ever had and feels part of me!
Obviously I'm not the matchy girly type ,my H bags are all vintage except for an Evelyne and that's from preference .
But if you like a bag with oodles of attitude, grab an Amazonia!

I second Amazonia—a good example is super, super chic, as Frou Frou exemplifies with esteem elegance. The material may not be the smartest thing H ever created, but it has a character that incomparable. I miss my Amazonia GP, which I gave up only because the GP wasn't practical for me (I just like the Trim much better)—so much I look at Frou Frou's with great envy and longing.

Beautiful :smile1: should post it in the other thread re vintage bags, one of my favorite threads, the name escapes me right now.

I actually started with vintage, and honestly, prefer vintage leathers' quality.

Definitely stylish! Amazonia is a sustainable cruelty free item - in my eyes it's THE epitome of style, far from being a failure.

Re rubber and I realize this is the thread but Chanel made a rubber flap. I loved that bag! As we know rubber splits and eventually the ends of the flap cracked. It seemed to fade a bit color wise but it was such a trooper. I walked to work in DC so 4 seasons. I remember begging and begging the SA to locate one and he did. It was in Hawaii. At least one can or could get results by begging a Chanel SA. It falls on deaf ears too many times in the world of orange, at least that has been my experience more often than not.

Thank you for posting this Frou Frou! I have eyed many an Amazonia GP longingly, wondering how they are IRL. I love the look but have always felt daunted by the maintenance issues. Glad to hear you are enjoying yours so much and that it needn't always be considered such a "train wreck" [emoji4]

I didn't know there were Amazonia fans and I love that there are! When I see bags like this, I wonder if that wear looks like patina and you've reinforced my thought that Amazonia could look great even beaten up like this.

Hello my dear! I owe you a note. Which thread is this you're referencing? We really need more vintage threads, as more and more of us are finding our most beloved bags there. It would be AMAZING to have a vintage finds thread - can someone ask the mods?
:smile1:
Definitely stylish! Amazonia is a sustainable cruelty free item - in my eyes it's THE epitome of style, far from being a failure.

I would be over the moon if H produced a material again that was sustainable and cruelty-free. I am very close to giving up veau leathers as originally they were byproducts of veal consumption but now apparently that is reversing? I can't buy a bag that actually increases the veal business (I'm so getting kicked out of H for this :p).
OK, we are way off topic, but this is such a great topic - froufrou/arabesques/lady sarah, why not start a thread on Amazonia and/or sustainability? H focuses on the latter in the past several annual reports so there is lots to say.

I know I'm in a minority but I don't see what's "hot mess" about it: my Swift Birkin looks just like that and I wish by other Bs looked like that too!! It's SOOO Boho chic!!
+1 That's just a slouchy B. JaneFinds usually sells BNIB from store at gigantic markups (like $20K for leather) so, to them, it may be a "hot mess". I don't even see corner wear on it and if it were a different color I would consider it.

I would buy it in a heartbeat, if my slouchy baby wasn't the same colour!!!

This is mine:
