A friend recently went to buy a used car. She thought she liked one until she got the carfax, which said the car had been in a flood and had once been declared a total loss. I picture that Kelly bag having been possibly in that car during the flood ...

On the other hand, like a few others, I'm also strangely drawn to that big old birkin! It's beat up ... but in a way, it's beat up with style .... does that make sense?!

That's what I find compelling about these "train wrecks" of bags. They remind me of aging glamour girls or dowagers who refuse to do surgery.
Dignity, elegance - and a certain amount of "H*ll, I had fun. I went on a safari to africa, was stomped on by an elephant, and lived to tell about it."

Well put Vintage Leather - you nailed that concept
:tup::tup::tup:

Poor bags :cry:. How cruel their ungrateful owners must have been for them to end up in such a state.

Vintage Leather, while I agree with you analogy to some extent, there's "I refuse to have a facelift" and then there's "I never, ever touched sunscreen or moisturiser in my life." Sadly some of these bags fall into the latter category!
