For the most part, I think American television is too prudish when it comes to commercials. Oftentimes, I'd be watching a show on banned commercials, and for the most part, I'd agree that some are too sexy, with others I wind up thinking, "What's wrong with THAT!?!?!"

The "what's wrong with that" part is that if they are aired when young kids can see them. If they are on HBO or something like that, whatever. While parents SHOULD be monitoring their kid's television viewing, your TV parental controls can't exactly be set for blocking lewd commercials......unfortunately!

Children are privy to entirely too much sex education via the television now. Commercials along the lines of those pics are just TOO MUCH!

The new ad campaign for Diesel jeans is Diesel Heaven. I never saw the ads in American magazines, only in British Cosmo. The whole concept is fallen angel, and in one picture, this woman was wearing these angel wings, and it looked like the wing was giving the finger!

I couldn't find pictures, but here's their new ad campaign: } DIESEL Presents | DIESEL Heaven {

I've seen that ad, too. :yes: It's been in most of the glossies, over here.

Doesn't bother me, personally; but it's far less graphic than this, I suppose.

Actually, I'm far more bothered by images depicting violence, particularly sexual violence, than I am by those depicting straight forward consensual sex.

:roflmfao:
These shots look like they were produced in some cheap "No Tell Motel".I don't believe for a minute these are legit.I think someone is jerking Lee around so to speak :hrmm:.
I'm not a prude by a long shot but I must say advertising such as this has never motivated me to buy clothing.

ITA. It's a combo of those porn-y CK ads and that Fiona Apple video. :rolleyes:

It's not the nudity or the sex that I have a problem with in these ads....it's the way it's done. These ads show complete lack of taste.

Nudity and sex can be done in a classy, tasteful way but these ads just look like soft core porn ads. :yucky:

I think sexy can be fine, and sex depicting men for a change is def. and nice and fresh twist. But, there is a big difference between sexy and sleazy. This was def sleazy. That's the first ad that made me feel like I needed to take a shower and be tested for an std :smile: Bleh...

It's dull dull dull anymore. Urban Outfitters does it, Abercrombie does it, American Apparel does it, c'mon, ad firms, look beyond 70s porn for your inspiration! There's a whole world out there!

This ad campaign looks suspiciously like the ones for American Apparel. That company's main marketing catalyst is sex. Their co-founder walks around in his underwear and they use the dirty 70's body hair, greasy skin, wired-on-crack models in their ads. I personally don't believe this is Lee because it doesn't fit their branding and the logo is oddly splayed.

Lee jeans need all the help they can get! That ad was like shooting their own foot.
I guess the 'mom jeans*' maker can't think of anything else

*from that Saturday Night Live fake commercial, I'm not dissin' moms : )
