They were a far better company before the partnership with NM. I think they needed NM more than the other way around, because it came during Covid when FP was struggling and needed/wanted expansion, which NM provided. They are an asset for NM and assets often get sold off in mergers and sales so it's possible FP would get tossed if Saks buys NM. NM used to have a partnership with The Real Real before FP and ended that, so it can happen to FP just as easily. The return policy for consignments and purchases is very bothersome; it indicates (at least to me) some financial issues and needing their customers to absorb costs.
Interesting I didn’t remember they had a partnership with TRR. I agree with you I think all the policy changes along with the leadership change that initially began about 7 years ago was not for the better.

It was almost exactly like what they have with FP, but they cut TRR loose and went with FP soon after TRR program ended. At the time it seemed risky for FP to partner with them since they dumped TRR so soon after the partnership. https://www.prnewswire.com/news-rel...nt-easy-with-a-new-partnership-300116969.html

I wonder if it was due to all the bad press TRR had with Chanel and selling fakes a few years back? You definitely would not want to be associated with a company that was getting sued by Chanel along with selling fakes (allegedly). It was all in the news. I just recently started trusting TRR as I had my first experience with them about 1 year ago which was positive.

I have an appt. with Fashionphile in DTLA next week to sell. As of now, there aren't any bags on the website I would buy to use a credit and get the extra 10% instead of getting paid a direct deposit. The FP rep said to get the credit anyway because it does not expire.

Has anyone done this? I usually take the direct deposit because the 10% extra doesn't seem worth the risk (in case the bag I am looking for never shows up!)

I’ve done it, and it wasn’t worth it to me. I carried the credit for several months, and eventually bought something. In the end the extra 10% wasn’t a deciding factor in my purchase. I would have bought it anyway. I only take direct deposit now.

Thank you so much! I would also carry the credit and than get worried the bag I am looking for never shows up. Direct deposit makes more sense!

or in case anything happens to fashionphile before you use the credit?

I usually do direct deposit or NM gift card if there's something I want to purchase from NM or BG. Never FP credit.

I have taken the 10% a couple of times and got the extra $100 to 200 bucks on top of my payout but I usually only do that when there is a bag I'm buying on the spot or a bag Im waiting on that should be lowering in price soon. If there is nothing I'm interested in I rather have cash amd wave the 10%. It's true FP credit doesn't expire but when you have credit....you are stuck using your payout and the extra 10% with Fashionphile. I don't like doing that personally as they are not the only place I shop. Of course FP will tell you to take the credit because they want that money they just paid you to go back to them again and not in your bank or somewhere else. The credit will always be in your account for you but if you find a bag elsewhere that you want, you'll be coming out of pocket for it vs using your payout money.

I've only taken the 10% if I already have an item on layaway, to help pay it off faster and with a bit extra. The credit can be used to pay down a layaway.
