Hi there. Well I understand FP is a business however if you are able to sell on your own, it's much better for you. For an example just a few days ago I was going to sell my Hermès Anniversary Twilly to them that I used maybe 3x. It's immaculate. They offered me $125 so I decided to keep it. They have 2 listed now for $340 and $335 however that is with a 20% and a 11% discount. Without knowing what they will actually sell then for I suppose that is why I got such a low quote. To get an idea of what you may be offered look up the item you are selling on their website and check to see what it is. It is usually close to half of their listing price. In the past FP would offer more but they have cut back. I did sell my LV Monogram Cosmetic GM pouch to them. It's immaculate. They offered me $550. I accepted as I have the denim version and only want 1 and to sell it on my own may be a while as it's not a hot commodity. They have one online now listed at $1090. I use FP just for peace of mind as I don't trust buyers at times at times as well. So many scams out there. Lol.
Hi and thank you for your response. You are right there is so much shadiness out there I have stopped selling on my own. I have also found in some cases they offer up to 60% less thank what they are going to list for. Now I only accept offers for things I really know I am not going to use. I do understand they have to make a profit as a business but I guess I also think they need to understand if they continue to lowball for items that should receive other consideration like condition, etc. people will stop selling and that will also affect their business. FP used to be my only go to but I have now started to reach out to other companies.

I totally agree! FP was my go to...period! Not any longer. Surprisingly I made a small profit of $62 from FP just a few days ago on a Salvatore Ferragamo Studio bag I bought from TRR. :) TRR had it for a really good price at $671 and with taxes and the $14 shipping fee (ugh) it came up to $738. The bag arrived in the mail the same day I was going to FP to pick up another Studio bag that I liked better. Not wanting to keep both, I decided to get rid of the TRR Studio bag and brought it with me to FP to pick up my new purchase. They were nice enough to squeeze me in for a quote for TRR Studio bag. They offered me $800. I accepted, so now Im stalking the site to see what they will list my bag at. Lol. My guess is about $1600ish give or take since they offered me $800. This shows you just how much more FP will lists their items over the other competitors for literally the same EXACT item. Lol. TRR Studio was marked down from $895 initially, so even at their first listing price, it will be cheaper then FP's price. They gave me $800. No way will they list it for $895 lol. No returns to TRR (final sale on bags) so FP helped me in this situation. Lol :)

I was actually at the Carlsbad selling studio today and got some pretty good quotes!

I was a bit nervous, because I wanted to sell some LV Damier Azur pieces, and recently a lot have been popping up on their site. I was worried they would be rejected for too much inventory, but the prices were way higher than any other reseller, I was quite pleased.

Aww I was almost going to pick a late afternoon appointment, but ended up going with 9 AM. It was nice being the first one there, but I was driving from OC and forgot about work traffic!

I love their showroom, something about picking what I want on an iPad and having it sent down on an elevator gives me a rush of dopamine hahah

Hahaha! Yes! I know what you mean! Lol. I saw the elevator come down with my items to view. I sat patiently in the grey single chair near the entrance that is across from the elevator...so I have a solid straight on view! I waited patiently for someone to open that elevator door. Lol. I was so THIRSTY, felt like forever! HAHAHA! It was somewhat crowded too when I went, however they found a spot for me on the little love seat so I could have a table. Lol. I hope your drive back to OC was peaceful and fast. Traffic, yuck. Lol

I wish they had a live cam on their website of all the stuff that comes down the elevator lol. I totally know that chair! I always sit in direct elevator view when I wait for my selling advisor. I sometimes worry I’ll see the bag I want come down for someone else, major FOMO haha. Also I think that was just a bad traffic day :( I hit worse traffic coming home, never had that much traffic going down there. The ocean view helps though :)

Has anyone had luck scheduling a virtual appointment to sell lately? I keep choosing dates, some far in advance, and it says no appointments available. Any advice?
When I inquired about that because it was happening to me they told me virtual appointments are not available at the moment. That was about 3 months ago. So why do they keep it on their site….. who knows:facepalm:

I can’t help but wonder if fashionphile will make it through this economy. Neiman Marcus is currently in talks with Saks for them to be sold to Saks. Neiman is a big contributor to Fashionphile as far as capital, services, and resources. Fashionphile is not doing buyouts any longer for amounts exceeding a certain threshold I know it’s somewhere between $5,000- and $9,000. They are definitely leaning towards consignment than buyouts. They removed virtual appointment services to reduce staff required. They changed their policy for returns, consignments where now you only get paid after the item is fully sold and not returned whereas before you were paid regardless if the item was returned. The return period went from 30 days to 15 days. We now pay for returns. There’s also been lots of complaints that they don’t honor the buyout prices after you ship them the item and come back with lower prices or state the item is not in compliance with their brand requirements. Don’t get me wrong I don’t want to see them go, I love them but I’m also questioning all the changes I’m recently seeing.

I believe Fashionfile is in a very good place compare to some other consignments, I’m not in love with the company to say these, I say that because I been watching its site almost everyday and have experience with them for years, the reason I believe they are fine is, they have very experienced buyers and sellers so they making profits very well, they quickly adjust themselves to better position themselves in the market ( such as, shorten the return window and barged $15 return shipping etc) and they put items on sale with extra discount to keep items moving even they may lose on some but in whole they making money; they have lots of cash reserves; they have made name for themselves put them in a more well known place compare to other resellers… I think they are fine.

The biggest challenge actually is other resellers and new selling platforms, Fashionfile and other established consignments need to give sellers and buyers reasons to continue buying and selling with them.
