Selena Gomez and Coach - Thoughts?

Times have changed!
Millennials are generally considered those born after 1982, so many have had time to establish a career.
That said, I think the cross-section of those with that level of disposable income and those willing to buy something because it has a celebrity's name is fairly small. But who knows, my first designer bag was $500 almost 15 years ago when I was 18, neon pink and a collaboration piece with a theater director that I'd still buy today.
I had read somewhere that the definition of "millennial" are those born in 1980 or later, so some millennials are actually approaching the 40 year old mark. *shrug* Regardless of age, everyone has different financial circumstances, and one cannot make a generalization as to what a "proper" or "improper" amount of money to be spending is.
Agree wholeheartedly. I disagree with the notion of making generalizations, especially based upon something as inconsequential as age, especially one of such a wide bracket. The only things one can say about people born between the 80s and the 00s that is 100% true is that they were born in those decades or are the age they are.
I'm a millennial and I've definitely spent more than $500 on a few bags. I'm one of the "older" millennials, though , so not really in the loop with celebrities like Selena Gomez. Regardless, I would never purchase a bag just because a celebrity's name is attached to it. I like Coach and I buy it solely for that reason. If Selene creates a line, great! As long as they don't do away with 1941 I'm all set!

But Selena Gomez collaborating with Coach doesn't do it for me lol. I like Coach and will probably buy Coach for a long time if the quality keeps up, but I think it's interesting that Coach's Instagram posts featuring Selena Gomez get 3x the likes than every other post. I think it's a good long term investment for the brand to establish their name with her fans (who I presume might be on the younger side).

What is that black embroidered scribble on the lower part of the jacket in the second picture? I noticed similar scribbles on the insides of the floral wallets. It kind of ruins the floral print for me.Recent photos.

You make wonderful points! I'm in my mid 20s and just ordered a black Rogue. It's my first Coach bag, as I wanted a change from the MKs I've been carrying for the past 3 years, and I now have the income to bump up my price range. Selena Gomez had nothing to do with my decision, but I can see how that would help Coach reach a younger audience.
It is designed to, I think, rough up the floral print with a bit of edginess. I personally like it.
I like it as well! There is a bit on the inner print of my red Compact wallet and I think it makes the floral print less wallpaper-y.
Totally agree. With all the resources the company has I have to believe they could have done better.
