Selena Gomez and Coach - Thoughts?

Yes, while I posted in the other thread @Teagaggle made about how I think this is a good pairing, they certainly are not being very innovative with this particular campaign. I think it is a different backseat (colour and stitching of backseat) but I mean, the "casual laying about in the backseat of my car with my handbag while my driver shuttles me around" thing did not need to happen again. I mean, the two poses above of the Pre-Fall 2016/Fall 2017 are VERY similar.

Hi everyone,

I quickly skimmed through and wanted to chime in on millennials. I'm a millennial smack dab in between the two extremes. I can tell you (my work follows demographics) that the range in birth years for millennials varies depending on the researchers. It can be as early as 1977 to as late as 2004. Bloomberg defines it as 1980 - 2000 (17-37 yrs old).

I have friends my age who range from buying whatever looks good and is discounted at Macy's (~$50) to buying Chanel/Hermes ($5k). My generation is all over the charts, but I have noticed we don't look to brands so much as what looks good, what is made well, and what is fair. Hence why brands such as Everlane have gained traction. So my generation will be hard to pin down as we also value individuality which doesn't bode well for a brand trying to sell their brand.

As for the market campaign, I think it's a missed opportunity. They could have done so much but instead they decided to do a replay of last year.

I appreciate your in-depth comment -- and agree with most of your points. I have several millenial nephews and nieces (no kids of my own) and they absolutely run the wide range of consumerism, as you suggested. Often their spending habits are dictated by their incomes -- anywhere from "techie millionaire" to "just barely making ends meet". And, as can be expected, the wealthier ones are often bargain hunting and the lower income ones spend beyond their means, just like consumers from every demographic.

This rehashed marketing campaign comes across as boring, so far.

I guess they decided to go with a romantic vibe for the campaign. Does anyone know about the colors of the actual bags? Is it supposed to be beige? A blush pink color?

I quite like how it looks on the Edie!

I assume this is that new "Melon" colour, which Nordstrom has up on site (not for purchase yet). It remains to be seen what it actually looks like in person though.

It's called "melon" and the interior and handles are oxblood. My SA had seen other pics and said it's more of a dusty rose with maybe a hint of pink. It will also be available, at some time, in a 25 size with snake detail handles. I am going into my store today to pick up the patchwork rogue...I may be "lured" into ordering this one...
