-Yeah, I contacted the same website www.2nd-handbag.com to see if they would purchase another Chanel of mine so I could put the funds towards this other bag....they offered me a really LOW price!

I believe you from USA. The consignment price is much more lower, they take 30% - 50% of the selling price exclude Paypal and all listing fee. For example a Chanel bag selling $3000 - 30% ($900) or 50% (1500) - 2.9% to 3.4% + 50cents, you see how much you can take back, they don;t even pay cash only consign.

Popped by Second0 yesterday and was horrified to see all the Chanels (mainly vintage) squashed into 2 sections of a glass cabinet! Bagzaar was slightly better but the bags looked like it was man handled!

Ohh btw, Bagzaar smelt really musky! Ew!

The Attic Place is worse if you think Bagzaar smells musky. :)

I have consigned my Balenciaga with The Attic Place at a predetermined price some years ago. The consignment period was 2 or 3 months. On the 1st day after expiry of the consignment period, I called her that I will be going down to collect my unsold bag, she told me that the bag has just been sold and she will transfer the predetermined price less 30% to my bank account. When I questioned on why I am getting 30% lesser, she told me to read the fine print on the consignment receipt that she has the right to sell off my bag at a 30% discount once the consignment period is over. This was not highlighted to me once I consigned my bag to her and it was too much of a coincidence that the bag got sold off the 1st day after expiry of the consignment period. She was lucky that I did not pursue the matter and demand to see a copy of the sales receipt. This was the first and last time that I will consign my bags to her.

As for Bagzaar, my experiences with them have been positive. I would leave my bags with Cat and she would not sell them at a discount even if they are past consignment period. If the potential seller's offering price is lower, they would call up the customer to verify if he/she is ok with the lower price before selling the bag. If you do not want the hassle of selling your bags online yourself, Bagzaar is a safe place to consign your bags to but that's my opinion. The bags at The Attic Place move faster since they update their website regularly so you can to see what they have in their inventory before going down.

If you want the best price for your preowned bags, it's best to sell them on ebay than consignment shops since they will slash your bags down as much as possible to earn a hefty profit. Now I list my preowned bags on ebay instead, I may get a slightly higher selling price but I might have to wait longer to sell them off. It's ok if you are not in a hurry ;)

Another place to try out is Bags Avenue @ Beauty World #02-01. The website is classicbags.blogspot.com. She has a fair collection of Chanels and LVs. I bought once from her when she used to operate her business from home.

Thanks for sharing your experience!

I have long learnt not to consign my bags!!! Have lost like.. thousands doing so in the past because I wanted to do a quick sale! Now I only sell my bags online through ebay/bonanzle/etc :D

Thanks for the reply! I actually sold them another bag and got a reasonable price. This was several months ago so they offered cash for purchase but I see on their website that they don't offer this anymore.
I paid for the remainder of the bag on payment plan and received the bag in excellent condition just as advertised! Worked out in the end...I am very happy with my purchase! I get so many compliments when I use the bag! :p

Hi , erm.. The shop at 2nd level of FEP that was in the earlier thread..erm is it a very small shop at the back and it is beside a foot reflexology shop? I saw a Chanel XL Jumbo today but was afraid that its a knock-off. does anyone knows the name of the shop??can someone pm me if they know. TIA.

Just an update on this shop: http://www.interesthing.com/shop/

Very bad deco. Looks so cheapo.
Brought my bags there to sell. BN Prada bag quote me $350.
Crazy totally

Boss has an attitude, like you owe him. Really sucks

Unless you are really poor to the fact that without that few amount of dollars, you would starve to death then really no choice have to bring it there to sell. If not keep it.

Not even talking about BN bags, even if my Prada was used, the price they quote is ******** absurd.

They are looking at LV. And even BN LV, they give a quote that is less than 40% of the RP. I ask the boss: 'Do you know how much this is retailing now?'. He gave me a wrong RP. That is why la! Boss don't even know RP, how to give consumer a fair price?

In any case, avoid this shop if you are looking to sell your bag
