a pic of the storefront and a portion of the Pawnee in blue (pls pardon the hair at the bottom).

the real money shot of the entire front with fountain is from the street, but I was too gobsmacked to grab my camera :p

the mall is two levels; Hermes is on the second level.

p.s. regarding the comment about the mirrors, etc: I think it's splendid that they had a soft opening and brought all the goodies, staff, store out early - they obviously had an accident with the mirror due to the fast rush opening and that will be fixed asap. I found the boutique spotless and perfect otherwise. :smile1:

OK, I didn't get an invite. There are four Portland girls who would dearly like to go to the grand opening. I don't think H expects us to travel, so they didn't send us invites, but we are dedicated fans who already travel for our H love! Anyone who got an invite care to include us as your guest? Pretty sure you can invite one guest per invite. Help?

Lisa, I can't beleive that you didn't get an invitation. Well, I can as you obvoiusly didn't, but I know that I sent your information to Ms. O. Would you like me to speak with her "sternly":D on your behalf? It must have been an oversight, but I'm sure that it's an easy fix to get your name on the list.

Yes, I think we need whatever help we can get at this point! Dear Katel is also going to see what she can do, for which we are also grateful! Thank you so much!

I have a bit of info that will hopefully alleviate any disappointment or hurt feelings regarding invites (actually, the lack of) for the proper opening...

H has partnered with the Seattle Art Museum for the event, so naturally a certain number of invites are allotted for those members. Unfortunately, the store is TINY and the fire department cap on occupants is only 53! Clearly that makes any event a challenge and store management recognizes it may need to do something else to mark the opening -- maybe several small events.

So the lack of invites shouldn't be construed as a slight of any sort - no, I did not receive one either - is just a facts and logistics issue.

On the positive side for those who will attend, I understand that Manuela from BH is going to do a little demo - she's going to construct a bag! Think that would be super interesting to see.

Just pm me your contact information again if you will Lisa, and I'll email it on to Oi-Ling again right away and ask her to see that an invitation is sent immediately. If I get your information in the next hour or so, I'll be glad to call her too. Be sure to send your mailing address, along with your email.

If you happen to have the contact information for the other ladies, I'd be happy to pass that along too.

That's OK, I think after hearing the news from Graycat that the occupancy is limited to 53, then there is no point really. And that means they sent out about 20 total invites to H customers AND Seattle Art Museum supporters as they can bring one guest each. 20 is a ridiculously tiny number! I'm sure there is disappointment among many people from both camps! Oh well! I have been fortunate to have been able to attend a grand opening at one of the other west coast stores, and for that, I'm grateful. Perhaps the Seattle Get-Together in November will work for our schedules!

I will try and find out what's going on. Oi-Ling did mention to me at one time that they are planning several smaller parties, so quite possibly there's another one in the near future that you'll be invited to. I'm going to ask her though and will let you know! I may try and get her on the phone right now!

^^^I just tried to call Oi-Ling for clarification, but she was with a customer and will call me back. I did speak with Susan (I think she said her name is Susan - pretty British accent??) and asked her about the party invite list. She said that it was totally decided by Corporate and based on people's shopping habits at other stores as well.

She did confirm that they are planning several smaller more intimate parties, so I'll try and get clarification on that for you. I guess the store isn't huge, so they're thinking several small parties may be more effective that one large, crowded one.

In any event, I'll try to get to the bottom of it.

Lisa, I just got off the phone with Oi Ling and gave her your phone number. She said that she will call you to explain and also will do all she can to get you on the list for the next party. She did confirm that they are having several smaller events. I'm so sorry that your disappointed or if I misled you some how. I feel badly!

Congrats Seattle girls on your new store!

Re the opening, H recently opened a store in my part of the woods that I believe is roughly the same size as Bravern. The night of the opening party Bob Chavez gave a short chat in store, but the real party was inside an unoccupied space a few doors down (that H flew in their New York florists to transform :p). Think this is how they managed a guest list larger than fire code would allow just for the store. Maybe Seattle H is doing something similar. Party was a blast BTW-H spared no expense on the food and booze-was a very pre-recession spread LOL.

Katel: You must have gone on Thursday before the rain hit again. Thanks so much for doing this. I guess my job now tomorrow morning is to get some instore pics if I can sneak my camera in.
