the short story: The Seattle Hermes Grand Opening Celebration last night was a complete success from start to finish - mais oui!
for those who may want details, the long story:
Hermes corporate truly pulled out all the stops in Bellevue (Seattle) last night at their Grand Opening celebration. The champagne flowed continuously, a battalion of Hermes “horses” lined the walkway, and the boutique filled with that special ambience that is quintessential Hermes - that “je ne sais quoi,” so intangibly exquisite, so appealing - for example, Robert Chavez, ever gracious, was spotted helping a lady try on a scarf, Manuella was busy creating from scratch a bleu de prusse fjord Kelly. I think that’s what I love about Hermes - to me, it’s the best of the best in luxury, presented always the most beautifully, absolutely like the art it is, by people who epitomize class and grace at every step with not an ounce of pretense involved –it is, for me, 100% sublime pleasure all the way.
The boutique thoroughly sparkled with color and energy - it was amazingly gorgeous everywhere I turned – yes, Hermes topped itself again, and brilliantly….but the true beauty of the night was the reason in fact that Hermes creates these exquisite items – the LADIES (and gentlemen) of the PNW– whooooHOOOO! (and, of course, the world throughout

)
I was so very happy to see again elizabethk, harleyNemma, loren, orchids, jburgh, Oi-Ling and Detra, and get to meet oregonfanlisa, queenmab, LisaG719, chkpfbeliever, pug*shoes, and LG (pls forgive if I’ve forgotten anyone). Ladies - you ROCK. You *completely* made my night and I can't wait til the next time we meet.
After much champagne and, for me, either ogling the gorgeous pieces or enjoying the company of the fabulous ladies, Hermes offered us the run of a beautiful French restaurant (Artisanal Brasserie -
http://www.bravern.com/dining/artisanal-brasserie-winebar), where they plied us with beautiful wines and the most incredible hors d’oeuvres, seafoods, steakbites, cheeses, desserts…..I could go on and on. It was a truly magnificent night and one I will never forget.
Pictures to follow later.
