Awesome! You look great, abq. I did not know you have two of these! The other one I want is black/white/red. Someday. No rush.

This is such an elegant CW scarf1 and it looks amazing on you!

Awesome momasaurus...oh how I long for this design...someday I hope!

You ladies are killing me with the Neige d'Antan scarves abq2atl...I do hope to find one someday that works for me, just lovely!
I thought of you, Bova, when tying and using the ring. You have such a knack with the asymmetrical tie. I hope I came close.

What CW are you longing for?

First off, happy holidays everyone! Haven't been here in a few weeks and it was wonderful catching up on this thread, truly wonderful pics from everyone

I have this exact scarf, and I don't think it is painted. It appears to be screened on top of the other colors though, and it may have been screen printed on top of an opaque white or a different ink to give an extra dimension to the silk design. I doubt that all scarves that were issued for this would have lbeen hand painted. I hope this helps. this design is by one of H's youngest artist:

Translated: “Heavenly Fires”

Artist: Kwumi Sefedin

Year: Fall 2000, 2001 (as Cash GM)

Literature: 2000 scarfbook

“Once, there were two gods watching over us. The first – the god of Lehreh – inhabited the skies of western Sudan, from where he sent down in timely fashion those life-giving rainstorms which gain such respect. The second, called Bail, in the same part of the heavens, scattered gold with both hands to sow the thick velvet of the night with stars. Each strove against each, for the happiness of all. It happened long ago, far back in the lands, where our races began; we return there in our dreams incessantly, towed by the stars. “

Thank you for this info and beautiful quote! I nabbed one on a whim and it went straight on my wall (still need to iron it though). I could easily go for another colorway down the road, I don't think any other scarf has as much movement in the design, it is indeed a special one.

I have one new scarf I gifted myself for the holidays, I'll be sharing pics of soon. :happydance:

Your tie looks great momasaurus, in fact when I saw it I thought...ooo, I need to try and have mine look like that!! I think I would like a black CW of Neige d'antan, although I also have to make sure the center colors works for me. Unfortunately I am not familiar with all of the CW's, but a black/red/white combo would be perfect in my opinion!

This is my most favorite design. Hope you enjoy yours.

Thank you! I didn't know about it before and I couldn't believe there was such a stunning design that I missed!

Thanks Lanit! I actually did research and saw your posts before I bought it. Yes I didn't mean hand-painted, it's just a second layer that looks like touches by an artist's hand. I noticed matte and shimmer dimensions on those second layers. Thanks for your confirmation! If I ever clean the scarf one day, is it prone to coming off?

That scarf design is so pretty!! I love the painted feature!!

I have a cashmere Sur Un Tapis Volant with gold stars on it which appear to have been painted after the scarf was printed.

Thanks for letting me know! This is very new and interesting to me. Another reason to love their scarves!

It's totally divine, I love the way it ties .That's a great buy .
It looks as if painted in the sections you show.I have a gavroche Feux d'Artifice which has painted on starbursts.

Thanks for chiming in too frou frou! Sounds like they tend to give "special effect" to the stars & starbusts! [emoji2]

Today's SOTD is one that I don't reach for often because I don't think the colorway is all that flattering. But it looked so lonely in its box - it was practically begging to be worn. Here's Chasse au Bois:

I usually wear it in a bias fold:

I find the foxes a little creepy:

You may have to re-tie it to avoid be starred at all day. Overall I love all the little creatures!

LOL, so funny about the eyeballs! I feel the same with Under the Waves, no matter how I folded it, some fishy ended up looking at me. I passed on it but I'm sure I'll regret doing that! By the way, so lucky you can wear that jade green border nicely.

Oh, yay, I love scarf on site! Between work, gravely ill family members and the holidays, I've not had the time to devote to posting pics of Flanerie a Versailles when you lovely tpfers helped me choose it last month. So I'm glad for this week's theme since I have a little extra time to post today.

First of all, I love this scarf. The joy of wearing a scarf that is a perfect marriage of colorway and design is so ... deeply satisfying. It truly brightens my day. I have a few scarves that I bought just because I want ALL THE SCARVES! But I find myself not reaching for them because either the design or colorway are not as appealing. (I can't believe I'm at a point in my collection where I don't wear certain scarves!) So here is the glorious lady that makes my heart go pitter-pat:

I confess that I couldn't resist buying it in Paris just before going to Versailles for the first time the very next day.

But it was bitterly cold that morning. Not good silk scarf weather:

But show my neck I must! At least have it peeping out of coat, haha. Here are a few scarf-on-site à Versailles:

I have a few more but need to take pics of the scarf. BRB.

Darling...your pics are so fabulous!! I absolutely love them. Can you please start a thread with your scarf collex? I adore your humor....and playful photos. Am so glad we met in line at the BH sale this year. :hugs:

Luvbolide, I think you would see a big difference; I was in Leningrad in 1998 and then went back to live in St Petersburg in 1993, when you would queue for hours just to see what was available. I remember going to GUM in Moscow when shops had exciting names like "Shoes" or "Women's Clothes". Now it is one of the most top designer - focused malls I have ever been in! You should definitely go back!! [emoji4][emoji4]

When I was there, there were no other tourists to speak of. We were followed everywhere, hotel rooms bugged, the works. In those days, Russians lined up if something was to be sold. Anything. Hear a rumor of say a shipment of shoes coming in, lone up to buy regardless of size, etc. one could barter them away later.

I know I would be floored by the changes.

St, Petersburg is such a beautiful city, I would love to see it again. We also went to the Golden Ring and would like to see that again as well.

I would love to return to Poland as well, esp to Krakow.

I must admit, though, lately I have been do happy to visit Paris that it is hard to think of other destinations.

Thanks for the encouragement!!
