Love this design too! What fun!
Thank you Bova!

Thank you scarf1, truly it is an amazing design. Nice to see they have cone with a gavroche for spring 17.

How fun! And you both wear your scarves so beautifully!

It was fun, and unexpected . Thank you.

I have this exact scarf, and I don't think it is painted. It appears to be screened on top of the other colors though, and it may have been screen printed on top of an opaque white or a different ink to give an extra dimension to the silk design. I doubt that all scarves that were issued for this would have lbeen hand painted. I hope this helps. this design is by one of H's youngest artist:

HI2000.jpg

Translated: “Heavenly Fires”

Artist: Kwumi Sefedin

Year: Fall 2000, 2001 (as Cash GM)

Literature: 2000 scarfbook

“Once, there were two gods watching over us. The first – the god of Lehreh – inhabited the skies of western Sudan, from where he sent down in timely fashion those life-giving rainstorms which gain such respect. The second, called Bail, in the same part of the heavens, scattered gold with both hands to sow the thick velvet of the night with stars. Each strove against each, for the happiness of all. It happened long ago, far back in the lands, where our races began; we return there in our dreams incessantly, towed by the stars. “

Thanks for the info. Screened makes sense. I can't imagine hand painting.

I'm probably off the theme for this week, but excited to wear the new to me Silk Feux Du Ciel Scarf 90cm. For the owners of this scarf, is a good part of the design actually "painted on" the scarf instead of printed? I have never seen this kind of painted H scarf before. TIA.

Here is what I meant by "painted on", hope you can see the difference between the actually painted dots and brush strokes vs. the printed graphs underneath.

This is my most favorite design. Hope you enjoy yours.

I love seeing these photos , thank you for sharing them. I was in Moscow - well, let's just say it was not Russia then and the notion of H was impossibly far from anyone's mind! I would love to see how much has changed. What a fabulous vacation!!
Luvbolide, I think you would see a big difference; I was in Leningrad in 1998 and then went back to live in St Petersburg in 1993, when you would queue for hours just to see what was available. I remember going to GUM in Moscow when shops had exciting names like "Shoes" or "Women's Clothes". Now it is one of the most top designer - focused malls I have ever been in! You should definitely go back!! [emoji4][emoji4]

What lovely colours - do I spot a Tiffany key there as well? I bought the Rêve de Corail because I love corals - unfortunately in the white and red CW which doesn't love me back - one of those never to be worn scarves in a pile with all the turqoisy ones

Very nice colorway.
Thank you! Very neutral CW for me, but very different than the rest of my scarves. But it does have BLUE!

Thanks! Yes, I love all the ocean theme scarves. And yes, it is a Tiffany key.

Oh, yay, I love scarf on site! Between work, gravely ill family members and the holidays, I've not had the time to devote to posting pics of Flanerie a Versailles when you lovely tpfers helped me choose it last month. So I'm glad for this week's theme since I have a little extra time to post today.

First of all, I love this scarf. The joy of wearing a scarf that is a perfect marriage of colorway and design is so ... deeply satisfying. It truly brightens my day. I have a few scarves that I bought just because I want ALL THE SCARVES! But I find myself not reaching for them because either the design or colorway are not as appealing. (I can't believe I'm at a point in my collection where I don't wear certain scarves!) So here is the glorious lady that makes my heart go pitter-pat:

I confess that I couldn't resist buying it in Paris just before going to Versailles for the first time the very next day.

But it was bitterly cold that morning. Not good silk scarf weather:

But show my neck I must! At least have it peeping out of coat, haha. Here are a few scarf-on-site à Versailles:

I have a few more but need to take pics of the scarf. BRB.

I own a bunch of watery/nautic/fish themed scarves, but most pics I took are with Under the waves.

Thank you for letting me share!

I seem to flood this forum with pictures every now and then only to get drowned in work afterwards and not replying to all your sweet comments.:hrmm: English not being my first language does not make it easier...:-s
Sorry in advance and thanks for your patience. :flowers:

Love all your photos, HoneyLocks! Under the Sea is so lovely on you!!

And I know what you mean about flooding the forum with pics and ghosting for a little while because of real life stuff. I also feel so appreciate of the kind comments but feel a little guilty for not replying right away.

OK, I'm back with just a few more, if you'll indulge me. [emoji12]

Fantastic, Joannadyne!! And you even found the wallpaper pattern?:happydance: I like your last styling photo the best - a lovely match to your top.

P.S. re zigzag sangles scarf, I like the black CW on you. But maybe pick another dark CW if it's too close to your Versailles one?
