Apologies - I prepared a nice montage but the server won't let me post .

I love seeing these photos , thank you for sharing them. I was in Moscow - well, let's just say it was not Russia then and the notion of H was impossibly far from anyone's mind! I would love to see how much has changed. What a fabulous vacation!!

I am clearly not doing this right - heading for Paris in about a week where I will see a bunch of scarfies from all over. But I hate the notion of taking silks because I fear bad weather. Perhaps I will bring a handf of CSGMs to help me brave the weather. And maybe I can get a fellow scarfie to snap some pix!!

I envy all of you your clever photo ideas!! Thanks for sharing them!!

I own a bunch of watery/nautic/fish themed scarves, but most pics I took are with Under the waves.
The other one is Voyage de Pytheas.View attachment 3559196 View attachment 3559197 View attachment 3559198 View attachment 3559199 View attachment 3559200

I seem to flood this forum with pictures every now and then only to get drowned in work afterwards and not replying to all your sweet comments.:hrmm: English not being my first language does not make it easier...:-s
Sorry in advance and thanks for your patience. :flowers:

Love your creative on-site pictures, especially Zambeze.

I love Mechanique du Temps in Prague -- I think Croisette did that one too, and I would love to be next!
Bain de Mer at the lake is hilarious -- Honeylocks, you're a treasure on SOTD!

These are great pix, HoneyLocks, and so witty! I love each one. Flood away, but try not to get overwhelmed at work. We love you here! (For a non-native speaker, your grammar is quite sophisticated!)

I'm probably off the theme for this week, but excited to wear the new to me Silk Feux Du Ciel Scarf 90cm. For the owners of this scarf, is a good part of the design actually "painted on" the scarf instead of printed? I have never seen this kind of painted H scarf before. TIA.

Here is what I meant by "painted on", hope you can see the difference between the actually painted dots and brush strokes vs. the printed graphs underneath.

It's totally divine, I love the way it ties .That's a great buy .
It looks as if painted in the sections you show.I have a gavroche Feux d'Artifice which has painted on starbursts.

That scarf design is so pretty!! I love the painted feature!!

I have a cashmere Sur Un Tapis Volant with gold stars on it which appear to have been painted after the scarf was printed.

I have this exact scarf, and I don't think it is painted. It appears to be screened on top of the other colors though, and it may have been screen printed on top of an opaque white or a different ink to give an extra dimension to the silk design. I doubt that all scarves that were issued for this would have lbeen hand painted. I hope this helps. this design is by one of H's youngest artist:

HI2000.jpg

Translated: “Heavenly Fires”

Artist: Kwumi Sefedin

Year: Fall 2000, 2001 (as Cash GM)

Literature: 2000 scarfbook

“Once, there were two gods watching over us. The first – the god of Lehreh – inhabited the skies of western Sudan, from where he sent down in timely fashion those life-giving rainstorms which gain such respect. The second, called Bail, in the same part of the heavens, scattered gold with both hands to sow the thick velvet of the night with stars. Each strove against each, for the happiness of all. It happened long ago, far back in the lands, where our races began; we return there in our dreams incessantly, towed by the stars. “
