HAPPY YEAR OF THE FIRE ROOSTER to everyone around the globe. It has been a challenging start of the year, but things are finally getting into gear, though a lot is going to require adjustments to a new "norm". Wanted to share my CNY theme silks though I found it difficult to find any roosters - there are plenty of birds. I enjoy all your lovely bird images as they bring out the beauties of our winged friends as we prepare for spring.

Could be a rooster, though I think it is a Phoenix from Turandot...guess rooster would not have such a grand plumage.

Early America's wonderful peacocks...

Seems like peacocks are in many of my silks... CH does them so well...

And my latest 90 silk that is one of my grails that I finally landed New in Box...DR's Prieres Au Vent. An interesting asian style winged horse for my friend PT.

What a gorgeous collection of silks! And the Prieres is wonderful, I have never seen it in that colourway, it's the best . I had it in reds and blues and it did not really work for me in those colours so I sold it. NOw I want it back again!!Excuse types. I am on the Ipad app and for some reason when quoting a long post I cannot see my reply - anyone else have this??

Sisters with Croisette for this: my faded, stained and colour-run Bocage which I love to bits (and paid too much for, but love is priceless, right?). Archive shot all dressed up, SOTD slumming it with my Angry Birds tee, and a close-up of my fave birdie cluster - see the birdie with a crest of feathers doing the eye-roll :p

This scarf is so beautiful; also I am glad I am not the only person who buys scarves in less than mint condition; I have a strange love for battered scarves. Actually though your scarf looks great, you have obviously given it good TLC.

Identical twins on this one, croisette. This was my very first H scarf, purchased in Harrods in 1986. The start of my slide down the slippery orange slope! :amuse:

I absolutely ADORE this design and cannot believe I do not have it! I love a duck. Once had a mama duck nesting right outside our front door. Never saw the chicks hatch, I just hope she managed to get them safely to a pond..
The Canards scarf also reminds me of last century, the 90s when I was working in London in the City and those duck head umbrellas were all the rage, you carried then on a strap on your shoulder, I have one, I loved it but of course lost it. Actually they were totally impractical and would bang into people on the escalators in the Tube...Does anyone else remember those duck umbrellas?

Thank you dear Scarfies for all the love for my Coqs scarf. I shouted very proudly to my husband just now, "The scarf ladies love my Coqs"
he is sending me to see someone about my Tourette's/strange outbursts...

We should have a week next year to celebrate our faded beauties (pretty please, ABQ?). And while I would love to have a Bocage in pristine condition, too many of my personal grails are from the 60s and earlier. I don't want to wait for perfection that may never come my way. Having said that, I do draw the line at buying scarves with holes. That would be just too heartbreaking.

I had grand plans of wearing these with my new year outfits. Delusional - I forgot that I spend most of the new year cooking - hmm, Pudfish, was that you who once modelled your H silk in an apron?

Yes but I am a big fraud! Rest assured I take my scarves off for cooking. I am a terrible cook and there is always plenty of collateral damage [emoji505][emoji91]☄️[emoji291][emoji602][emoji576]

Lol, our poor DHs must put up with our silk obsessions. Will you please post photo of your lovely Coqs tied to share? I have never seen one actually modeled, just flat which of course is exquisite!

Thanks Pudfish - I waited a long time to decide on colorway and format. i would have loved this is the CSGM, but I have too many GMs right now and only saw one or two in the past years. The mousseline would be lovely but again, some colorways just did not seem to leap out at me. This is a good, fresh looking and summery colorway. The red has a lot of brown tones in it right? There are a few out there on the resale and ebay sites. I'm sure you will come across one that suits you more.

image.jpeg image.jpeg Two collages of my scarves with birds. Cheating a bit because you can't see them all! One collage homes in on the scarf tie, the other is my grinning visage - trying to cheer myself up because I am so very ill and haven't been out of the house for a week!

So we have Au Coeur de la Vie, Au Pays des Oiseaux Fleurs, Jardin des Anglais, Mythique Phoenix and Au Mer de la Ciel.
