View attachment 3593157 View attachment 3593158 Two collages of my scarves with birds. Cheating a bit because you can't see them all! One collage homes in on the scarf tie, the other is my grinning visage - trying to cheer myself up because I am so very ill and haven't been out of the house for a week!

So we have Au Coeur de la Vie, Au Pays des Oiseaux Fleurs, Jardin des Anglais, Mythique Phoenix and Au Mer de la Ciel.

Wonderful collages, HH! And it's always a treat to see your smiling face. You are a brave lady. :hugs:

Faune Lettrée 90 silk. Birds posing as an F, a penguin posing as an O, and another bird posing as an R!! Aside from the penguin, I can't specifically identify the other birds. Anyone else know?? :flowers:

Oh, these are so neat. I've always liked this scarf flat, but struggled with how to tie it. I did know that the letters were made up of fauna, i just never knew how well rendered they are! Very nice HermesNuttyynut

Not really a rooster but definitely a Chinese bird.

Wearing Jonques et Sampans today and of course a closeup of one of the lovely phoenixes.

Hey I have this scarf and I never noticed the phoenix. I'm beginning to think that I'm not paying attention. :-sThanks for the lesson BostonJestset

Success in the search for chickens in my Peuple du Vent! :amuse:

And a happy discovery -- not only was there a rooster, as I remembered -- the rooster is next to a monkey (2016 was year of the monkey)! Happy Year of the Rooster! :flowers:

This is an incredible scarf!
The "O" bird might be a puffin rather than a penguin. The two "F" birds are perhaps falcons, and might the "R" bird be a raven?

HAHA. There are phoenix-like birds on each of the four corner ships. Isn't this a wonderful design? It's one of my faves and my DH who is from China originally [and normally could care less about H lol] gets very excited when I wear the "Chinese boat scarf".

HH, I am sorry to hear what a bad week it has been for you. I hope things improve soon.

I must admit that I always think of you as a blue girl since you look so good in that color. But my goodness, you also look gorgeous in the beautiful red sweater and scarf! Love it on you!!

I went birdwatching this evening :graucho: and found two more birds in archival photos.
There are birds (cranes, perhaps?) in the center of Daimyo...

... and of course there is the big honking crane in Ex Libris en Kimono:

... but the darned crane only shows if the scarf is tied EXACTLY right. This photo is from 2+ years ago, and I've never been able to replicate the look!

Ya know BostonJetset in the back of my mind, I knew these were Chinese junks and sampans. I mean, I took 8 years of French, so it's not as if I couldn't read the title. Somehow, I never recognized it as a chinese-themed scarf. Duh. (Eyeroll) Doesn't the phoenix represent rebirth..rising out of the ashes? Well the past week or so have been very eye- opening ..in more ways than one. I find refuge in TPF.

This thread is really therapeutic and educational.

I absolutely ADORE this design and cannot believe I do not have it! I love a duck. Once had a mama duck nesting right outside our front door. Never saw the chicks hatch, I just hope she managed to get them safely to a pond..
The Canards scarf also reminds me of last century, the 90s when I was working in London in the City and those duck head umbrellas were all the rage, you carried then on a strap on your shoulder, I have one, I loved it but of course lost it. Actually they were totally impractical and would bang into people on the escalators in the Tube...Does anyone else remember those duck umbrellas?

Thank you dear Scarfies for all the love for my Coqs scarf. I shouted very proudly to my husband just now, "The scarf ladies love my Coqs"
he is sending me to see someone about my Tourette's/strange outbursts...

DH just asked why I burst out laughing, but I was laughing too hard to explain!

Sorry...long day...needed a laugh....
