Did you have a fox invade the premises? Friend of mine who has had chickens had a fox. If I remember correctly, they took 'em all out. I'm not sure she went back into chickens. Nature can be really rough.
Hubby thinks it was a racoon...they kill more than they can eat - just for fun. :confused1:

The bronzey feathers are captivating and you tied this perfectly to showcase them. I'll be sending good thoughts for your kitty.
Thank you about the scarf! Kitty will be fine.....coming home today after capturing everyone's heart at the vet place.

I don't have any 'what was I thinking?' scarves I'm not sure about or don't like, unless you apply it the other way, as in 'what was I thinking? - I should have bought all the cws of La Femme au Semelles du Vents, Zabavushka, Quintessence and Pegase d'Hermes

I go through phases though, but I know I do, so sometimes scarves have to take a rest for a while. I also don't buy many pre-loved unless they really are an HG (including cw) which minimises near-misses or the temptation of a good deal.

Anyway if you can spot it SOTD- yesterday camouflaged in my new velvet floral suit (DH's early Christmas present) Into the Canadian Wild by AS. The black and white photo was not my idea but still better than a selfie by me.

No no, they are not weeping -- they are grumpy uncooperative teenagers who just heard you suggest that they can get their driver's licenses soon, and they're all, "We're outta here!"

Too funny about the sporran (and thank you for teaching me that word!). We should start a support group for people who don't look their best in giant gold things and large borders.

Running towards you applying for membership in the support group - this week simply isn't long enough for posting all my mistakes - besides it puts me in a bad mood just thinking about them :-)

Just a quick visit in answer to @eagle1002us - I am still around! I have not posted for a while because I haven’t bought any new H scarves for ages and also my small collection has really had enough airing. There really are limits to posting the same scarves over and over again.

I am also seriously ill now and getting worse. I only manage to leave the house once a week if I am lucky and mostly stay in bed. I do post on my blog and Instagram regularly, though. My present obsession is with growing out my dyed hair and embracing the grey now that I am 61. It has been cut short and I am documenting the changes .

Here is my “not really sure” scarf: Au Coeur de la Vie. I bought this colourway as I loved the colours of the plants and animals. But the bright yellow border is almost a neon shade! I also don’t care for the very centre. If I manage to tie it right, then it looks OK, especially with navy on a Summer’s day. This is an old archive photo so it is a bit blurry...

OMG this suit is HAPPINESS

Wearing Cliquetis today, possible rescue from the re-homing pile:

I really like the color of this but I hate that great big gold thing in one corner - I’m sure it has an official name but it makes me think of a sporran and my very dear Jamie Fraser is nowhere in sight so it doesn’t do much for me. [emoji56][emoji6]

PS: I meant to say that I actually like this scarf on you quite a bit. The color of the border is what I was hoping I would get in my Au de la cinq mers but didn't.

You're in! We meet on Wednesdays in Hyde Park, where we take our revenge on giant-gold-things-with-big-borders by tying unflattering scarves on the Albert Memorial.

The center of the scarf makes your eyes look very blue, and I do think you pull off the yellow. Difficult yellows are sort of a running theme so far.

I am very, very sorry you are ill. We stand ready to distract you if that is any help.

So great to see you, HH! I actually woke up this morning wondering about you. Glad I am not the only one who doesn't like the center of Au Coeur de la Vie. It creeps me out - like an amoeba or something. Yet I've seen some pretty pix here of people who rock it. I agree - you have lots of more impactful scarves (BLUUUUUUUUUE!!!), but this is still lovely on you.

This is a great topic. I learn so much when everybody gets into the details about what does and does not work for them and why. I am not ready to rehome my errors yet, so advice is welcome, but if all you have is sympathy, I'll take that too.

This one I still hope I can reclaim: Au de la cinq mers, in gold, black, and what I hoped was a wine color but is oranger than I thought. The pics in this current ebay listing get the colors about right, though you can't see that there are some highlights that are traffic-cone orange, yiikes:

I wanted a regal scarf, and it is regal. But I didn't know yet that a black border gets lost in my black wardrobe (thanks again for that insight, ElainePG) and that I prefer a pattern that goes all the way to the hem.

I thought either the gold wouldn't be too bad on me or -- ha ha -- that I could diminish or hide it (there's your "WTH was I thinking???" Hide it with what? A false beard?). But the beauty of this one is in the wonderful detail, and if I scrunch it up to hide the gold, then it's just a black border with some mustardy bits and what's the point?

I do get compliments on the details when I wear it in a draped bias fold that shows off the ships and fish and fabrics, but it's hard to make myself wear it when I have so many others that look better on me.
This SO funny!!! I got a great giggle out of your description, Belphoebe--- This has to be a clear example of that which is one person's fail is another's grail! I LOVE THIS SCARF! I have the exact same color way and am so enamored by the design and the details, and the color as well. I don't usually wear it black on black, but more often with camel and rust. It's a great fall scarf for me. I'm not one for yellow, but wearing it with camel tones down the brightness.IMG_3482.jpg

Ooooooo yes yes yes yes yes this was just what I needed! I haven't had luck putting it with the cooler, paler beiges in my wardrobe (khaki, fawn) but I haven't tried it with a warmer camel color, which, come to think of it, is a color gap in my wardrobe and must be rectified IMMEDIATELY HOOOORAY

I do love the richness and details of this scarf too and have been unable to let it go (you are so right, papertiger), so I am very excited to have a new possibility. That first modeling shot of yours in particular where the white actually stands out more than the gold is opulent and gorgeous and just what I want. I am going to totally copy you, thank you :flowers:

This is a great way to deal with this scarf! Love it against the russet tones.

I love, love Pani La Shar Pawnee and went thru a period of orange scarves. Once that period was over (ohh, about a few years ago:smile:) I realized that this cw just does not go with anything I usually wear (except white tee). I have since got more Pani in different cw, but just cannot let go of this one.....maybe I will frame him:idea:
This mod shot is from the last time I wore him.
