I like it that the excited penguins broke formation in the corner. I can imagine this huge Emperor penguin off-screen with a booming voice yelling at them to get back in line because H is taking the photo NOW!
It also reminds me of a series of surprise! ties that Dunhill made: I have one with a very classic pattern of blue dolphins, and discreetly tucked into the pattern is a nice red lobster mimicking the dolphin pose.
Yesssssss!!! That sounds fantastic. Hooray for oddballs!

I'm quite at home in Autumnal colours, these are just a few

So why the Versailles? In the UK fireworks start around Diwali, this year mid October and carry on and on and on weeks past Guy Fawkes night (Nov 5). I'm sure they had an evening party in mind in this cw, and fireworks were so much a feature of a evening at the palace.

I dedicate my single Le Carnaval de Venise/Fetes Venitiennes to @momasaurus and @Croisette7 and our @Scarf Addict.. One of my flattering and beautiful favourite scarves, mine in a FSH box, so special.
All so beautiful!!

SOTD for the last few days. The rich chocolate and ochre of Cendrillon & the sere end-of-fall cw of Central Park with its withered brown leaves.

And today's scarf is a Kachinas ascot in mustard, vermilion and steel blue on a background of drab olive and khaki.

The ascot is such a wonderful and great everyday version! All stunning!

Welcome home to the Mac, Apple bill for the treatment more expensive than the vet .
I'm able to delve into my many earthy hues now .

My first CSGM and still in love, Brins D'Or in orange, mustard , grey khaki and red.
My second CSGM , La Femme aux Semelles de Vent in black , jewel tones and gold. My evening shawl.
Another Femme in Noisette , always reaching for that one , very undemanding too.
I would have a hard time choosing a favorite. They are all magnificent!

Stunning! I've never been attracted to Wakoni before, but you have made me reconsider. You must show us your collex at regular intervals (we have - ahem! - hoarder's week to dilute the guilt).
Thank you for your sweet words Xincinsin. I had similar experience too. I think that is the fun and tempting part of Hermes scarves. They challenge our imagination and most of the time bring in exciting discoveries at the end. Please show us if you have Wako-nis one day, pretty sure you will be addicted to those untraditional designs. Good luck!
Btw, I will try to take good photos of my small collection.

A bit late in the day - but here are the lovely blues and grays of Filigrane with its leafy skeletons

This is an enchanting scarf that doesn't get nearly enough attention. The men's scarves do sneak under the radar (though sometimes I like that). It looks great in that knot with the denim.

I know marietouchet is right about the unlikelihood of my ever learning who the designer is, but I still have this fantasy that we'll figure it out someday. A friend traveling in China was told it might be a Chinese designer named Zhang (Bachua Zhang? something like that?), but I don't know where that name came from. The internet doesn't turn up anything helpful. The friend isn't a design afficionado, though: for all I know, they were talking about Hermes Rent-a-Car.

Wako-ni, my favorite Hermes scarf design, so many different appearances when tied differently. I have 3 colors and plan to collect most of the color ways.

Xincinsin took the words right out of my mouth: I was never interested in Wa-ko-ni until these pictures. This is the first time I've noticed that it can look abstract and sort of midcentury modern depending on how it is tied. Very, very beautiful, thank you for posting.
