Sorry for my delay - I've been distracted by the MYH Scarf Showcase thread!

It's Les Fusils - 1960 Henri De Linares.
The poor thing is damaged - there are 11 small holes (mostly pin holes I hope, or moths ) and one hole about half the size of a dime. It was very dirty with spider webs (I hope thats what they were), old makeup and food stains - I've been able to get it clean but couldn't remove all of a couple stains… they are very faint now though.
I'll have to be very careful wearing it. I don't know what I can do about the holes but I sure don't want to make them any worse!
It's still a beautiful scarf and the silk is - well - dreamy soft.

Yesterday I put it in a bias fold and put it around my neck and then burst out laughing - it looked like I had a very bendy rifle around my neck!

Always interesting these oldies - I recently managed to find one of my HGs, Les Caves de Lascaux, in a CW I didn't know existed. Just a couple of pulled threads, otherwise neat, apart from a strong perfume scent which need six washes and a good airing - isn't it lovely when the H gods smile and sprinkle fairy dust - enjoy your find :-)

Here's my "restoration" story -- this scarf turned out to be in the worst condition I ever bought for rescue. I knew about some spots in the corners, but didn't realize that the colors had faded and bled into each other on the rest of the scarf. I started by washing in cold water, but when I realized it was so faded I went for the boiling water method of trying to fade out the stained areas. Wow! It just kept fading -- my three successive stain catcher sheets all turned fuchsia and I finally gave up on trying to get the stain out of the yellow areas. It's still a pretty scarf though -- and it looks almost normal when worn on the blue diagonal.
Kimonos et Inros (1980s original, but could be a 1997 reissue) This is AFTER my treatment. I love the colors and wear it anyway -- but not if it might rain! A good one for Yellow Week, though...

I've always liked Kimonos et Inros so I'm fascinated by your story.
The fuchsia bleeding into the yellow kimonos looks most artistic and lovely , if you look at it that way you have customised your scarf.

There was actually more dense color bleeding and there were certainly more stains on the scarf before I started, from frou -- I didn't make it worse. I was just amazed at how much more dye kept being released and absorbed by the stain catcher sheets as I worked on it. I've chosen to embrace the "rosy glow" on the yellow as you suggested.

Six washes with what kind of soap solution? I love the cagey way ebay sellers say "There is nothing that I can smell" or "Nothing bad that we smell."

Good idea... imagine you're wearing a glorious sunset!

They are all beautiful on you , what a lovely quartet of silk.La Femme with the yellow border is outstanding, it must attract many compliments!
Thank you Frou-Frou. Yes, la Femme is a treasure, and I wear more often this CW than the B and W, even if it's a beauty. Never thought that yellow, chartreuse, khaki and blue would be so easy to match.
