The very first time I saw Amours, it immediately received the pet name "Naked Cherubs". :p An time hubby asked what scarf I was looking for when I was hunting, instead of Amours I just said Naked Cherubs. Made so much more sense for him!
I need naked cherub!!! And I thought yellow week would be safe for my wishlist...
Quick off topic reminiscing: When I got married, we had by chance a calendar with this little guy on it. DH kept the picture on the wall even after the year ended. I think he considered it to be the equiv of the other little guy which Chinese families sometimes put up to wish for a "fruitful" union.

Omg, Sammy, you look fantastic in yellow! I especially love your Charmantes. Simply gorgeous!
Thank you soo much, dear Joanna! :hbeat: Never thought that anyone could ever compliment me for wearing yellow...

Since folks enjoyed Amours yesterday, I thought she deserved a spin out of her box today. And while I'm at it, why not go all out on yellow?! [emoji23]

I'm not quite convinced I can pull off this shade of yellow - what do you think?? I also think I should have used a brighter lipstick. Hmmm.

Some more of Amours:

Soo lovely, dear bunnycat!!! Especially the Cosmos moussie!

I love this scarf and top pairing, Croisette! This is the shade of golden yellow that (I think) ia wearable and really flatters.

Is your Amours in a lime/yellow-green cw or is it just the lighting? Lovely to see the jacquard bees from this angle.
Thank you litchi! It is lime yellow.

Thank you soo much, dear Joanna! :hbeat: Never thought that anyone could ever compliment me for wearing yellow...

Thank you Sammy! That one is so glowy!

Small yellow hints on my Brides de gala love... l'm not a big fan of this color but I think it brings some interesting light in the pattern.

The little yellow details do really contrast well against the darker teal. Lovely combination of colors!

Fabulous colors Croisette!

Oooh, you really got me curious - I love some of these old scarves - would you share which one you gave the special treatment?

Sorry for my delay - I've been distracted by the MYH Scarf Showcase thread!

It's Les Fusils - 1960 Henri De Linares.
The poor thing is damaged - there are 11 small holes (mostly pin holes I hope, or moths ) and one hole about half the size of a dime. It was very dirty with spider webs (I hope thats what they were), old makeup and food stains - I've been able to get it clean but couldn't remove all of a couple stains… they are very faint now though.
I'll have to be very careful wearing it. I don't know what I can do about the holes but I sure don't want to make them any worse!
It's still a beautiful scarf and the silk is - well - dreamy soft.

Yesterday I put it in a bias fold and put it around my neck and then burst out laughing - it looked like I had a very bendy rifle around my neck!

Here's my "restoration" story -- this scarf turned out to be in the worst condition I ever bought for rescue. I knew about some spots in the corners, but didn't realize that the colors had faded and bled into each other on the rest of the scarf. I started by washing in cold water, but when I realized it was so faded I went for the boiling water method of trying to fade out the stained areas. Wow! It just kept fading -- my three successive stain catcher sheets all turned fuchsia and I finally gave up on trying to get the stain out of the yellow areas. It's still a pretty scarf though -- and it looks almost normal when worn on the blue diagonal.
Kimonos et Inros (1980s original, but could be a 1997 reissue) This is AFTER my treatment. I love the colors and wear it anyway -- but not if it might rain! A good one for Yellow Week, though...

The 'boiling water' method is how I ended up with a purple Fantaisies Indiennes… I wept a bit, threw it in the trash twice (and fished it out twice) and decided I needed a lavender scarf. It gets worn in the evenings when I'm freezing to death in the basement - it's still pretty - just… different.

Friday - woo hoo!
Wearing Jouvence - lots of yellow in the flowers and the fireworks jacquard always makes me smile.

I agree, Cookiefiend -- nothing like a jacquard to perk up a pattern, and the fireworks are lovely. I'm partial to the kangaroos & anchors on Le Geographe too. There will be a week for jacquards and other "specials" (plisses, maxi twillies, and cashmere/silk 90s) in December.
