Posting two of my workhorses, both CSGMs unsurprisingly given the chilly climate! :p

First one is Sequences, one of my first shawls and from the Men's section no less. The second one is LdR that just works with everything. Please excuse the messy knots, after a long day at work I don't really care how they end up.

Great neutral shawls , I'd love to own either of those ...though my pale complexion may not do them the same justice

Dear Maedi! I remember you posted ACdlV in the Spring 2014 thread! This CW was also my first choice but I had to wait because my boutique got lots of other CW first... (I actulally got CW 17 in another citiy, they had not orderd that one at all!)
Here are two pics from the Fall 2013 from the DD "Tigre Royal"... I also tried the one you saw in Frankfurt, but the peach-color was not working for me (no figure!) where as this Bronze/caramel/kaki is really easy to wear and match...

Pegase Divine bronze colourway , bravo your Tigre is fab on you .
Maedi You must search out that Tiger, I can imagine it being perfect for you

This workhorse kept my neck warm through three days of hiking and tent-camping on the coast, DH's choice of activities for his B-Day. (This in the airport hotel bathroom on the way home...) BdeG will get a nice bath when she gets home.

94107 Likeminded about working these shawls , they make the cosiest layers while hiking , and when one stretches out on the grass for a little rest , the lightest and warmest of blankets

The first of a few "go-to" HS for me...New Orleans Jazz, in the 90 cm twill, which originally captivated me because of its reference to the jazz idiom, in which I lived all throughout my school years, through and including my MBA/JD days when I played lead alto sax in the jazz band at Notre Dame. My muses were Ellington, Basie and Kenton...and the compleat, elegant master of the alto, Johnny Hodges.

Very dapper chic John

Yay, Nico! We're twins on both! :ghi5: I agree, both go with everything !!!

MYH, D Lee - Sorry to keep you guys waiting. Here are the steps of this cozy knot:

1) Fold the scarf into a triangle

2) Fold about 3-4 inches:

Fold another layer

3) Put on your head like a head scarf, with two ends cross in the front

4) Tie two ends behind the neck with two simple knots

5) Wrap the scarf corner around the knot done above:

6) Drop the hood down

7) turn the back to the front 180 degrees or 90 degrees, depending on which part you want to show in front of your neck. Voila!

Pros: no fold wrinkles, able to show details located at/near the center of the scarf
Cons: bulky and too cozy for warmer days.

Many thanks to Mr. Teddy Bear!
Chestnutty, thank you about the tutorial! Mr Teddy Bear is def a great model!

Hi Anfang,
This blue is SO pretty! I am now in jeans 95% of the time & I specifically seek out this or a similar color. If this is in moussie, I would get it in a heart beat. But couldn't see the design well from the photo!
D Lee, I'm going to post a flat one from France H.com. But the colors of the site are not exact, my pic has the true cw of this one.

Chestnutty, how clever and creative are you and your knotting skills! Thanks for sharing.

Anfang, could you post a picture of your dd 140 cm Concours. I am indecisive on colors. Tia!

Nico, thanks for your input and your workhorse scarves are spectacular!

I cannot think of a workhorse scarf and try to rotate most of them equally. Oh, just thought of one :)
Here you go, my dear Maedi! Not the best one, sorry... but this will give you an idea. This 'dirty' blue perfectly works with jeans :

Oh s neck.

Silkies, I have come over to the blue side--slowly but truly. This moussie is the first and only silk my dh has bought for me and since I have worn it (according to my spreadsheet) the most of all my silks--I declare it my work horse. (yuck--sorry about straggly hair)

SparkleL Fanfare for the blue , it takes a while for blue to take a hold but when it does...wow !
Is this an iridescent colour way , or is it you lighting it up from within?

AND ...many many congratulations on that last birthday:smooch:

Still one of my two most loved and worn H scarves. This was well worn when I bought it , so I have no qualms about wearing it wherever , whenever . It's very tough and hasn't complained at all .

So pretty! U wear it so well! I wish I could migrate to a colder part of the world so I could use my CSGMs more often.:D

Thx Anfang! Would very much like to see the design of your scarf. The photo of the DD attached to this post is very pretty as well. These are 'my' colors. Love them!

Love this dip dye, Anfang! The colors are multi-dimensional and elegant!

Love your shawl and rouge H bag combo, Frou frou!

Chestnutty, what a great way to tie the scarf. Love your model, too. :smile1:

Uber elegant , I love this one .In fact I love all your workhorses , your aesthetic is so calm and refined.
Thank you for your sweet words, my dear frou frou :flowers:

A great one, indeed! I know a lot about the 'whenever-wherever' thing! ;)

Thx Anfang! Would very much like to see the design of your scarf. The photo of the DD attached to this post is very pretty as well. These are 'my' colors. Love them!
Thank you my dear D Lee! As soon as I'm back home, I'll attach a flat pic of this Clés. And I agree, these DD subdued, muted colors, are -to me- the best! :smile1:

Love it too, my dear! I was a little bit on the fence, you know how it works when we're questioning : maybe not another blue, maybe too muted, maybe... But IRL it DOES work! And I'm happy with it! Paired with a black jacket, it's a killer! :D

Nico_79 - Nico these are great neutrals indeed! The grey Instruction du Roy is the one that got away for me. I kept debating whether or not I should get yet another classic shawl and before I knew, it's sold out in US stores. Hope H will issue more grey shawls in the future.

Thanks Chestnutty! I hope you will get your grey shawl eventually, I almost passed on this one too because I thought it was very similar to my Cavalcadour shawl.

Also thank you for sharing the knot, Mr Teddy is a great model! :D

Nico, thanks for your input and your workhorse scarves are spectacular!

I cannot think of a workhorse scarf and try to rotate most of them equally. Oh, just thought of one :)

Thank you dear Maedi! I wish I could say I wear brighter more vibrant ones regularly, but these are truly my go-tos.

Perfect neutrals.

Nana, thank you dear. I must say I am so envious of your bob! It looks like the perfect cut to show H silks.

Nico gorgeous shawls! Specially love the second (although I'm still trying to fgure out what LdR means ;) ) (edit: got it!!)

Melora, thank you. Sorry I use the acronym, too lazy sometimes to type out the entire name.

Great neutral shawls , I'd love to own either of those ...though my pale complexion may not do them the same justice

Frou frou, thank you dear. I'm actually quite pale too, but they somehow work. I would suggest to give them a try if you're searching for a neutral.

:woohoo: Anfang, I love this on you!! OMG I wish this one had worked as well for me. I'm going to ogle your mod shot now. :D

This looks lovely on your frou frou! Isn't it great when they are already broken in? No anxiety of wearing them any time you want. :smile1:

Ahh I'm so behind in seeing everyone's awesome photos!

Sparklelisab, your DH has good taste and a moussie no less! Looks beautiful on you!

Pegase, ahhh we are cousins on this Tiger DD! I have the green cw, never saw yours in person, but it is beautiful!

Hermesguy, I love that this has special reference for you. Makes these H silks a bit more charming imo!

And a very heavily used for years now : 140 DD Les Clés gris bleu/bleu moyen :

Anfang, you're killing me with all your pretty DDs! You wear them so effortlessly!

Here is one of my "workhorse" scarves and I need some help. (Borrowed the pic from HSCI as it is still too dark and rainy...OMG it's snowing? again?!!) Anyway, I usually wear this scarf folded on the diagonal etc. but I am wondering if anyone has any tricks to show off the middle of the edges (where the three shells are and the "shield" on the fourth side?

"Ballade Oceane" Julia Abadie 1999

Jahna, this is beautiful! Hmm...trying to think of a way you can show off the shells...maybe a knot expert can chime in?
