Hi there! I'm sorry for being absent for so long, I'm in a remote place by the Mediterranean with only a mini iPad to connect to the world (and a very poor Internet signal). I can barely see some of the pictures you posted but I can't contribute with mine to these wondeful week themes. I'll do it next week when I'm back to civilization.

DESERT ISLAND? SCARF??? Aux dear.

Well, it would have to be a 70cm (everything else is too hot). And I would want this one because I would be waving all the flags I have so Tuiga would come and rescue me.

Clacques aux Vents, Dominik Jarlegant, 2010
Here's a piece of the actual artwork done for the scarf:

Jahna, beautiful scarf! I like your thinking too! Very clever!:graucho:

Enjoy your stay, birkinmary! We're waiting for your return!

So, Mistress Sparklelisab, an island, a scarf, a fruit? Here you go : an island, Tiga, east of Loyauté Islands, a mousseline for the fresh nights, Rêve de Gloria, and a fruit : pitaya, for sure :

Anfang, thank you for the three fantastic photos!! That is one beautiful mousse you have my dear and talking about pretty, that has to be the most gorgeous piece of fruit I have ever seen! :smile1:

Birkinmary, you have a wonderful time in the Mediterranean! Lucky girl, you! I look forward to your fantastic photos when you are home again!:smile1::sunshine:

Thank you for your sweet words, my dear Vitamina! I love these pitayas to bits!

MMMhh. That is a tough one! ha! I would say my one and only mousseline. She is not to warm for tropical daytime weather and gives some warmth come those breezy Island nights! I guess it could also act as a netting for bugs and mosquitos!!;)! As for a fruit, it would be blueberries! Love my blues...even in my food! ha! I could even prepare a facial with my free time! :graucho:

(Ors Bleus d' Afrique)
Love your blues... Another blue lover here!

MYH, Jahna, Anfang - Thank you for the compliment on New England garden. It still gives me shivers thinking now I finally own it.
Chestnutty, thanks for sharing this beautiful CW of "Jardins"! Here is my fav detail from my CW (look closely for the hidden squirrel):

LOL, I ain't have no love for squirrels so I'll pretend that I ignore that one and another one to the left border as well.

Oh I always call this fruit dragon fruit. It's grown a lot in the Southern part of my country and is incredibly sweet. The ones I could buy in the U.S. can't hold a candle to it in terms of sweetness.
If I have to take one scarf to the island, it'd be the Aux Portes du Palais mousseline. My first GM and the GM that I damaged... So given that it's been thoroughly broken in, so I won't mind wearing it to even the most weather-challenging areas on earth.

But if I can't bring GM, then of course the Lumieres de Paris in my avatar would go with me.

Fruit: Jackfruit. Yes it is an odd choice, but with this fruit I can eat the flesh sections and boil the seeds as well. And do you know that you can even preserve wine in the flesh while the fruit is still on the tree in order to get jackfruit wine? Cool stuff huh!
Btw, don't mistake jackfruit with the stinky durian .

Chestnutty, that is one beautiful mousse! Wow!! I actually don't know what I am enjoying more this week..the scarves or the fruit! Your jackfruit and the information you added with it is very cool. Making wine.. on a stranded Island...not bad at all:graucho:!

I too call these fruits du dragon, and you really may find very good ones around here! The jackfruit is great, too. At La Réunion, it's very popular chopped, cooked with smoked bacon. This is called in creole "ti-jaques boucané" ;)

Love this Aux Portes du Palais, and I know how sorry you are to have it damaged. But this way, maybe you could wear it more? ;)

Desert island, you say? Well, Le Robinson Chic, of course!
Here with my favorite tequila and glasses for island margaritas.

I'm assuming limes will be provided.:graucho::graucho::graucho:

My desert island (at least today) is a rose garden in full bloom. I wear my Plumes mousse - others have pointed out the uses of mousses on the island, and if it's one and only, simple and classic is a good idea. For my fruit, I'll gather the rose hips and make Turkish Delight. BTW, the yellow rose is a kind of cousin of mine - it's called David Rockefeller's Golden Sparrow.
