Let's Celebrate the number 5 and Silk!
Why are we celebrating our FIVE most worn scarves?
--Because the number 5 is significant in many parts of the world:
--It is considered the human number, often represented by a man or woman whose head and outstretched limbs form a five pointed star.
--It is the number symbol for Totality in Chinese and Japanese Culture.
--Number 5 is a protective number in Islam and a symbol of strength in Judaism. In Christian iconography, 5 refers to the number of Christs wounds.
But most important:: It is the number of scarves a Silkie buys before s/he realizes s/he is HOOKED like a big ole Marlin!!
Let's see your FIVE most worn Scarves my friends!!!
Oh Silkies, I just spent an hour looking and commenting and bam, gone!!
Sticking with this week---err errrr Anfang and BirkinMary, your top five worn are divine!! Love the cheating on your part BM! Nice.
Tanker, love the bird scarf. Maedi twin!
Thank you my darling Maedi, you're such a sweetheart!Anfang, your five most-worn scarves are beautiful and everybody here could identify them as you. Then your red ones... magnifique! Such a clear, empowering color and gorgeous designs, too.
Melora, I didn't get the joke either - I guess I didn't read the number sequence out lout - I am usually slow at understanding jokes. Your two workhorse scarves are so pretty and also so you.
I will need to think about the workshorse scarves. I usually try to give them equal wear time. Oh, I just thought of one but everybody has seen it abundantly. It also has to do with the fact that its condition isn't perfect anymore so I wear it in situations where I don't have to guard my scarves too much (i.e. hiking, in crowds, on weekends, going out at night).
Anfang, I had missed your pictures lately. I love your taste for neutral scarves, great selection of the top 5
Thank you so much, darling! I was so infuriated not being able to post last week, even if I'm rather poor when it comes to pastels... Your neutrals are great, even if I'm not on the brown side. You could me make rethink about it! And your bright ones!Sorry I wasn't able to choose just a top 5 but 2 of them, one for neutral and another one for bright colored scarves:
My choice of neutrals: Tous les Bateaux du Monde, MetM embroidered issue, LFaSdV, EL in Camo and Epices:
The bright colored ones: RO, LFaSdV, Belles du Mexique, Zabavushka and TB:
Special editing for you too, TT? Della Cavalleria is such a great design. I'm still on the fence about this one, just being concerned about this big ropes around my neck, go figure... But Maillons de Joel Stein is pretty interesting. I was considering the white/blue one. The point is, the border is so huge! Bah, we'll see what happens! Can I do my 5 newest scarves in the spirit of the magical number ?
I am not in the place where my FAV 5 are am with my newest. Been a stressful few weeks and when I am stressed I buy silks (good thing I don't buy diamonds!)
Here are my FAB FIVE!!
3 new 90cms
1 GM Mousse
1 GM Cash/Silk
Aaaaah, sparklelisab, we're twins at least on this Tiger, if I remember? And probably on more!Oh Silkies, I just spent an hour looking and commenting and bam, gone!!

Bravo Tiphaine! A great design, and you wear it well, my dear!I love this thread, it's amazing to see everyone's collections of beautiful, and even some rare vintage, scarves too! I'm afraid my scarf collection isn't big enough yet to show you my five most worn scarves (or soon I will have posted them all!) so I hope it's ok if I post my relatively new, but still my most worn scarf of all - my orange 'attrapes tes rêves'

I just adore this design and the colours, maybe surprisingly, go with almost anything - so it's heavily worn for the amount of time I've owned it.

Hi silkies - thrilled I finally have some time to share my 5 most worn.
1) Astrologie nouveau - this poor scarf has gone through the ringer. I got wet red nailpolish on it, had someone else spill beer on it, got sunscreen all over it, you name it! And it has been washed so many times and still looks new. The magic of H silk! And yes, even the red nailpolish came out due to a local dry cleaner that persevered.
2) photo finish - a great casual one that goes with all the gray I wear
3) echec au roi - another casual one that I wear with white and gray
4) Mars - the blue feathers on it still make me swoon
5) mer de la ciel - goes with everything because it's so colorful and every corner is different

Seton, I would love to see your "La Rosee" flat if you have a pic.
Pierina, have a safe trip! Since you are coming North, bring your rainboots...
MYH, you have the Faceties! I was wondering how it looked IRL; thanks!
WValencia, I wasn't really looking at Le voyage de Pytheas; I am now-great mod shots!
Dooneybaby, lovely scarf; I should know what it is but I don't...
Im quite busy these days. I manage to read, but not comment! I did see some lovely scarves though
Here is Fêtes vénitiennes. I had to change the way I fold the basic bias to hide the cute couple dressed in dark green, and that resulted in a nice light pink-beige scarf.
Im also the proud owner of new second-hand earrings. I had the exact same pair, but lost one, and never found another pair I liked so much. Now I have 3 earrings, so I can afford to lose one![]()
Five most worn? How could I make a choice? Some of them are so old and most of them have been heavily worn... Here is my closet's own selection, top of the piles!140 DD Tigre Royal and Bouclerie d'Attelage, CSGM Camails and LdR, and Patch :
And the pic!
Point d'Orgue! Never tired about this one! A beauty, Melora, I mean it!
Hahaha, Jahna, I know, I'm a bad lazy gal!But this is my for now color chart! I sometimes may go for bright reds!
